Hi all...brand new tomotorbikes full stop. Just passed by"bigbike test" 2 weeks ago and my Street Triple R gets delivered on Wednesday. Know pretty much zero about bikes....toss up was the Yamaha MT07, Kawasaki ER6N orthe StreetTriple R.....Triumph won!!! Hope I am not going to regret it!
Welcome to the site Dougie, I'm sure you made the right choice but I'm sure some owners of street triple R's will come along shortly to convince you. PS We love to see pictures once it arrives !!!
Hi dougie, take your time with it as you'll get longer fun time and hopefully many years of love and passion for it. The bad thing is you should have bought a shitter first to take the edge off any teething problems but hey ho it'll be reight as they say up 'ere.
Hi Dougie welcome to the jungle. A great first bike, but take your time getting to know it cause believe me give it anything above 7-8000 revs and you will be flying. Have fun.
Nice. But as said above go steady until your ready. I'm still going steady after 35yrs but I'll be ready on Tuesday just not sure which Tuesday . Andy
Hi Dougie and welcome to the Triumph Asylum - lovely bike you're getting, need to see pics when it arrives. As others have said, the Street Triple R is a properly quick bike so please do take it steady for a while. You'll be surprised just how quick these bikes can be by comparison to just about ANY car.
Hi Dougie, Its all about experiance, confedence and awareness , Its somthing that comes with time. You have to gain all three. Passing your test is the easy part compared to some one the clowns your going to meet out on the road. So as said, Take your time. Good luck with the Bike, Great choice
Hi Dougie, welcome in! There's some great gentle roads in West Sussex to hone your riding skills in a leisurely way! Use em don't abuse em........yet!!!
Welcome buddy n congratulations on passing your test n a new bike to go with ;-) Watch that throttle n be very cautious until everything becomes second nature to you. All the best buddy n ride safe
Should've gone for the yamaha, much better bike. And for riding it - ride it like you stole it and feck em all !!!!
My Su has an MT07, what an amazing little bike. Fitted some lower bars on it for her that helped it in the bends and a noisy pipe we got in the deal
Welcome Dougie. Great bike. Owned one myself and can confirm they proper go. Easy to ride too and handle great. If it's second hand, might be an idea to return all the suspension settings back to standard. Triumph development riders are well known for being some of the best in the business and they come very well set up out of the crate. ATB Bob
