I got an advisory on M O T 2 weeks ago, too much play in gear lever. Got a whole unit on Ebay cheap and swapped it.
Only I ended up with what amounted to a false neutral between 5 and 6 ,tried to adjust the gear change rod and it was seized at one end. Snapped off. so ground out the spline clamp on the old one, so it has more of a gap to squeeze and all problems solved.
Washed and cleaned the calipers and pistons (front).

Changed chain and sprockets on the Widow as planned. That was hard work, fellas. I did get everything off fairly easily:

    IMG_1661.JPG

The state of my old front sprocket nut was appalling (yes, that's rust):

    IMG_1656.JPG

Breaking the old chain was easier than expected, but pressing the plates and riveting the master link of the new chain was challenging to say the least (the guys at triumphrat do have a phenomenally good tutorial). I did break the break pin and the riveting anvil of my chain tool - it seems to happen to everyone that does it!

    IMG_1668.JPG

It took a lot of work, but my front sprocket is spotless:

I worked through Saturday night, and again today the whole afternoon. Everything *seems* to be done properly and holding in place, to be tested tomorrow morning. I will be a very stressed rider for a couple of weeks, until I'm certain that riveted link holds!

Thanks Wayne! Aye, did that. I used the same washer, although bent on a different side. Seems to be holding up nicely so far, and the "lumpy" feel off the chain in neutral seems to be gone. Overall quite happy, provided it holds!

I try and do most jobs myself so 'Lou' his having his first oil and filter change, bless :D. After dropping the oil it occurred to me my filling jug is in my sons lock-up . If time permits I'll try and get around to the Samco hoses and HEL brake lines o_O

    Evening all...

This evening I painted out the red ring around the exit hole of my scorpion serket carbon exhaust. I think you can guess the colour...;)
    image.jpeg

Yeah, I know the can is a scorpion, but the red and silver sticker just didn't cut it for me, hence the beautiful yellow Arrow plate. ;) I think it brings everything "together".

I did something on my Triumph today and last week also. I rode to an event with lots of other bikes and both times, about 20 miles out some a"s&hol* overtook me and made a real mess of overtaking the cars in front slipping up the side of them as they go into left hander . Then disappearing and leaving a bad taste in all the drivers mouths raising stress levels and overheating tempers.
