Buying a hydraulic lift / bench was one of the best things I did. No more rolling around on the garage floor!
Got Doris out of the shed for the first time since the GMU to go for a quick blat but remembered I hadn't had the chance to clean her!! 3 hours later she's back in the shed ready to ride!!
You're likely the only forum member that lives nearby, so I'll know who to turn to if I do anything wrong! Wessa - the only thing I knew how to do in my previous bike was stretch the chain. Then I got the Widow (T100) and slowly started getting more and more stuff done. Still nowhere near buying bearings at truck shops eek, but bar changing the tyres, I've done all the required maintenance so far by myself, and a few upgrades along the way. Gonna try to change chain and sprockets this weekend... wish me luck.

Busy evening putting the monoshock back on Penelope. All new grease on the rolling bearings and alot of sod arsing trying to do up bolts and nuts on both side of the bike at the same time. I would have got a cert in contaughtionist skills tonight. Anyway its on and rebuilt. Sat on her,she feels higher. ( in not suprised, I doubt if any oil was left in the old shock.) The new (ish) shock is a SHOWA.not sure if it's a standard shock or aftermarket. Good thing is it has a seal you can replace.I had the spacer for the bottom of the shock made, as the old one was errrr well see for yourself .the new and old . The old Bearing was inprinted in it. The old Bearing got destroyed while getting it out but the new one I got from the farmer store in Kilkenny was spot on. Saved a fortune on Triumph parts Tomorrow I test ride.

Thunder in the Glens. Avimore was full to the rafters with Harleys, bikers, and tourists, lovely weather too. Took me 1 and 1/2 hours to get there, every few miles more bikes appeared, and by the time we got to 10 miles out there where lines of riders joining at every junction, had a great run down and by the time I got there the main street was choker, very slowly down main street and parked up. watched the ride out pass by. 25 minutes later I got across the main road and got a look at the stalls and the bikes. Knights jousting and loads more entertainment, great time to be had in the evenings also I believe. Didna see Dougie though Im sure hell have more photos. 150 miles, a great day out.
