Hi everyone I have just recently joined the group as after a break of about 15 years I am getting back on a Triumph !
My "new to me" ride is a 2009 Bonneville SE in Pacific Blue and white, It'll be my ride for whenever I return to UK to visit friends and family, I would prefer to ride a bike than drive a car any day of the week, even the huge cost of taking out temporary insurance outweighs the cost of renting a bike when I'm over.
    Looking forward to getting involved

Hi Graham.....been a triumph owner since 2020 when I bought my new T100.

Been thinking of visiting the Rock for a while....not sure how many days to plan for.....I know its small so would 3 days on the ground be enough.

Saying that....if I stopped for say 7 to 10 days.....if we where to cross into Spain.....are there any easy to reach destination with if using bus or maybe train?

    Nick from Cheshire UK.

    Hi Graham,

Love Gibraltar, went there, last minute for my birthday, the first time last November, liked it that much, I've already booked for next November :D

Whereabouts will you be based when you come to the UK?

@Graham Earl Welcome to the family. Do hit the upload a file button bottom right corner and show us all the new Triumph. Gibraltar is lovely. Last time i was there many many years ago i purchased a new Harley Jacket for pennies brought it home wore a few times and resold for twice what i had paid for it.

Hi and welcome. I love Gibraltar, worked out there a few years ago. Great atmosphere with some lovely pubs and restaurants.

Hi Nick, yes its pretty small, so from a riding perspective you are a bit restricted on what you can get to, the upper rock nature reserve, access via Jews Gate is restricted to local vehicles and taxis, but there is a small carpark there and its possible to explore on foot if you're reasonably fit, the old military roads are pretty steep in places.
There are spectacular views to be had from there and there are some rough tracks worth exploring.
Or you can get the cable car from Grand Parade to the very top of the rock, there is a decent size motorcycle parking area next to the convenience shop on Grand Parade. (this assumes you are riding down)
There is an enormous amount of Military history if that's your thing.
I would say 3 days is about right depending on how much you want to pack in or chill out, there are a couple of nice marinas to sit out at and relax as well as plenty of bars and restaurants to choose from. locally there are good bus services and taxis, who will be happy to do the official "Rock Tours"
If you are flying into Gibraltar, with the current nonsense that Brexit has caused, you wont be able to cross into Spain unless you have a hotel or other type of accommodation booked over the border, you'll need to carry proof of the booking. (unless you have a passport from an EU country, in which case you're laughing)
There are some very nice places to visit nearby in Spain, there are taxis and decent bus services available but the nearest railway station is about 15 minutes drive away at Estacion San Roque.
You should be able to find most of what you need to to know on the "visit Gibraltar" website.
    Hope this helps

Ha ha, Joe sounds like you had a right touch with that Harley jacket.
The place has probably changed out of all recognition from when you were last here.
Ill post a picture of the bike when my technophobe brain has figured it out

Hi, Im generally situated in South East Essex between Romford and Chelmsford, I still have family and a good number of friends that I catch up with whenever I get back.
Where have you booked for your next trip, Im part of a loose collective of ex-pats who are all bikers, we regularly meet up at a bar called O'Riellys in Ocean Village.
Hit me up nearer the time you are coming over, come and join us for a few sherberts :)

Hi Col, are you North or South Island ?
A friend of mine used to work for Siemens out there in Christchurch.
I'd love to visit NZ at some point, I'm reliably informed that the SCUBA diving out there is pretty awesome, and I expect the riding across that spectacular landscape.

Hi Graham.....that's great thank you....no wont be on a bike and wont be hiring a car.

But what you say about crossing the border sounds like it will bugger up my plans of visiting local interesting place in Spain within a bus ride distance.

So have I got that right.....it I was just wanting to enter spain for a day trip and returning to GIB later that day I wont be allowed?
