I'll install this soon. It appears very well-made.

I haven't ridden the new lever yet, but it looks like a drastic improvement.

Personally, I wouldn't remove a remote linkage in favour of a direct fit lever. The advantage of a remote linkage is it protects the gearbox if you drop the bike so the selector shaft doesn't take a direct hit. I wish the Bonnevilles had one.

I'm not sure what you mean by removing a remote linkage. Can you circle what you're referring to in the photo above?

I was referring specifically to the photo in post #18.

This is the remote linkage on your bike.....

Note the lever itself is not mounted directly on the gearbox selector shaft like the one in the photo in post #18 so if the bike falls over on it's LHS and the lever takes an impact it will likely just bend or break the lever.
With a lever mounted directly on the selector shaft, the impact can damage the selector mechanism, as has happened on some Bonneville models with such a setup.

Yes.... thanks for that thought. :grinning::grinning::grinning: My only option is then make a longer remote linkage extender or don't bash th gears or crash... Or can you buy a long adjuster ??? as getting left hand thread dye etc is a faff to far for my arthritis....

There's nothing special about a remote linkage rod. My ZZR has one and it's just a length of alloy road with opposing threads at each end. Your options are:

    1. Get a machine shop to knock you one up which shouldn't cost much £.

    2. Cut and weld an extension piece in the original rod or extend it with some sort of adaptor on one end. Something like: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/12426254...lp:2332490&itmmeta=01JKQZPT481XKX1Z2P5HZH2C1Y

    3. See if you can find one from another bike that uses the same threads and is longer.

The part you circled is still on my bike. The black aftermarket part uses it just as the removed silver part did. (Edit - I see now that you were not referring to my SW Moto part).

Just stick some engine bars or protection on there if worried. I think it is quite smart and serves it purpose.

I wanted to ride my Tiger to the train station this morning, but alas I ended up taking the kids to school instead. Soon!

IMG_5919.jpeg This is drastically better than the factory lever.
