My 2000 S3

Returning to biking after a near 7 year break, I set my sights on an S3.
A bit earlier than planned, but Once I checked her out in the flesh, I wasn't walking away !

I think a testament to her previous owners, and Triumphs build quality.
But hey, I may be biased

So here is my new steed:

I think I prefer her without the Bellypan

Not sure whether to keep the bikini on or not either

A folder of paperwork and stuff, everything points the way to a looked after genuine 23k miles bike.
Short term plans are swap out the indicators for clear lense arrow shaped ones.
I wasn't sure about the silencer in the ad pics, but in the flesh it looks fine.
Longer term I may look at options.

Now once my Helmet and Boots arrive, I can have some fun in the sun

Hi Tel, nice looking bike ..lots of blue bike lovers on here! i'm not sure about that particular bikini fairing either..is the "lump" in it to make room for the dash? i think it would look better with a black fairing without the lump! not sure if the newer ones would fit without a bit of fiddling,ihope it's sunny when your gear arrives, i'm sure you will have a lot of fun on it

Yes Dougie, the lump is indeed to make the clearance for the top corner of the instrument light section.
I think I will have to take the bikini off and see, I am kind of the mind the bike should be totally naked
Having said that, I wouldn't mind having some radiator side cowls, but can't seem to find any for a 2000 model.
Likewise a front "fender extender".

Nice looking motor it looks the same blue as my previous 2003 model. Looks a nice well cared for motor that will have you smiling from ear to ear

How about putting the belly pan back on and removing the fly screen?

Don't make me even more indecisive !
I am going to take the fly screen off for sure.
I am also considering bar end mirrors ....

Beautiful and well-kept bike - great find! I'm definitely partial to the blue bikes

Go for the bar end mirrors. They look less alien and I've found the visibility to be as good as conventional mirrors.

Remove the fly screen, add belly pan and go for bar end mirrors

Spot the differences !

We will see how I get on with the mirrors, I have a suspicion they might not stay were I want on the move !

Hugger removed as it was a fibreglass one that was seperate from the chain guard, and looked a little worse for wear.
Thinking of a Powerbronze one as it incorporates a chain guard, is plastic and is meant to be a straight fit.

I just got either a bargain or a dogs dinner second hand hi-level stainless exhaust from ebay, short of the mounting bracket. I had to take a punt as it had no bids and starting price was very tempting ! (I got it for the opening bid).
If it turns out to be the former, then I have to find or get a bracket made ....
