Help Deciding - Speed Rs, Rr Or Street Rs??

@tripleplay707 Generally when people ask this question they have already made up their minds. They are all great bikes with very little differences. Really up to you what you get. What Joe said really.... I have a '24 Street Triple RS, its great fun. The only reason I don't have a Speed triple is because I have a Aprilia Tuono V4 and I suspect the two bikes would be very similar. I don't think you can go far wrong with any of them for Road use the Street triple is plenty quick enough in that respect, but of course if you want the extra horses either Speedy will deliver then that's the direction to go in. I've had the Aprilia about 6 years now, its way too quick for me but I love it so its place in my garage is secure.

 

I went for a Street RS myself for road/track use.
I had a Speed RS 1050, did a ttrackday on it and changed to a Street RS as the Speed was good but just didn't quite feel at home on the track...
My Street's now just a track bike as I took advantage of the fact that you can get lots of track based goodies for the Street (thanks to Moto2) and also I have a Tiger for the road.

 

@tripleplay707: According to your pre-decision I would go now for the look you prefer. Possibly also to the additional extras you are able to order with them. The two 1200 ccm bikes are both great!

 

What's your physical dimensions and how do you ride normally?

 

The price for the RR is in my opinion a bargain!

 

You and I are a physically similar build by the sound of it.
I bought a 765rs gen 1 back in 2018 and still have it which must say something. A bit of a "do it all bike", light to push about, been camping around scotland on it yet still can chase bigger bikes down.

 

@tripleplay707 What ever you go for make sure you stay with us. Checking for bikes is tricky do test test test. Second hand look at the service history don't just take someone's word. Run your fingers around the disc's see if they have a huge lip on them. Shows an aggressive rider if they have they will have a small lip. Check for badly fitted bits or damaged bolts or studs. But do test any bike for straigness. Any niggles just ask on here first someone will jump to your aid. The RS been a good bike from day and any niggles have been well and truly sorted.

 

I love my Street Triple, as @Eldon says it's a bit of a "do it all" bike; I go camping on mine, have been touring in Spain / Portugal on it, it's happy doing nadgery little roads and hairpins and equally as happy being ridden in a very spirited manner. I'm shorter and much lighter than you (female) and have heard that the rear shock ideally needs changing over 180lbs or so rider weight but that might just be a myth that's thrown around - if Eldon's a similar build to you I'm sure he'll know! It's just a bike that makes me grin every single time I get on it, which for me is the best reason to choose a bike!!

 

I've not found this 180lb shock limit that you mention @Mrs Visor and have used it two up with the wife previously.
I found running the rear shock on the "pillion settings" worked for occasional two up and was equally good for spirited solo use.
