Hello, I am so looking forward to "meeting" everyone, hearing about your epic road trips, tips and tricks as well as maintenance suggestions.

New to motorcycling at age 57. An avid road cyclist (previously raced) and current mountain biker (XC). Started with a Vespa GTV 300 "Sei Giorni" Edition, then a 2019 Triumph Street Twin 900, then a 2024 Triumph Speed Twin 1200. I would say the 1200 will be the lifetime motorcycle for me as it really suits my riding style and my personality. I love meeting new Triumph owners who take the same pride as myself. I'm here for a good time, not a fast time - so not much into needing to go faster, or have the ST1200 go any faster, just want to enjoy sunsets, sunrises, and a short trip with my wife to the local restaurant by the water.

Welcome. The Speed Twin 1200 is a great bike, I'm sure you'll enjoy it.

Our son lives in Tacoma. I really want to visit Victoria, Vancouver etc the next time we're out there. I just wish we could get our bikes out there!

Morning, Robert! I’m in Seattle (pretty close to Triumph of Seattle) and have a 2019 Speed Twin. It’s a terrific bike; the sports version of the Bonneville.

I know you aren’t into any speed/power upgrades, which is reasonable given the ST’s perky nature in Sport mode. It’s silly fun.

Check out Arton Works’ replacement gauge faces, tho. I’ve found them to be a satisfying change, they are only $100, easy enough to install that even I could do it, and it’s surprising how much time you spend looking at your gauges.

    welcome!

Thanks! I have been looking at that Arton Works gauge face. I’ve watched a few video tutorials. Looks easy enough. I may do that on the next “buying frenzy”. For now I’ve just done the usual stuff: sump guard, radiator guard, engine sliders, clutch and acg guards. can’t wait for the next sunny day!

Welcome to the forum. You’re on about the same latitude as us but I just wondered how long your riding season is?

We're just 3-5 miles north of the Washington/Canada border, so Blaine WA is likely the closest city in the United States...that said, our winters can be mild, and we do get the odd, 2-3 days of sunshine here, but mornings can be dodgy with frost. We try not to ride when evenings go below freezing, as that really makes the roads dodgy to ride on. whereabouts are you, @Baza?

Well, the sun made an appearance so took “Freddie” out just to stretch the legs. Roads were dry, but it was a cool ride to Peter’s Cove (Pender Island, BC). Even a short day on the bike is a great day! Hope some of you are able to get out. Happy Thanksgiving to the American friends!

Nice machine. Good to see someone got to ride their bike today. My two bikes are now off the road until March/April time next year. Have been invited to join a group going over to visit the WW I grave sites in April next year. I’ve never visited my grandfather’s grave so looking forward to it. Then May/June going to the Island for race week. Keep safe.

That sounds like an amazing road trip! Your side of the Atlantic has so many beautiful places to see. My wife and I have this dream to do a motorcycle road trip for a few months, starting in South Wales, where she is from, and making our way towards North France (Calais and Normandy areas), then south east towards Turkey, Etc. goal is to do this within 5 years, if not sooner. Be safe!

We were in Llanfyllin for 5 days in August for our annual bike trip. This year two contacts from my working days joined us, thoroughly enjoying it.

    Ready for the off.
