My daughter LauraLea and my granddaughter AJ just landed at Heathrow for a ten-day vacation in the U.K.

If you see them say "Hi."

Tell LauraLea she didn't leave enough cat food.

You should have said earlier. My Tracy could have picked them up. Could have shown them around and even provided a meal and a bed till they got adjusted. O'H mate it is a bit cold here now and supposed to being having stormy weather for a few days. I really hope they see the good side of the UK and get a little sunshine.

Good job they didn't fly into Gatwick @Fork Lock
And tell them to be EXTREMELY careful in London. It's nothing like what a lot of American tourists think it is.
Forget Mary Poppins it's more like Mogadishu meets eastern europe these days! They need to be extra vigilant for pickpockets on the underground & anywhere else that's crowded

Thanks. I will pass this along, but she's pretty streetwise and she is a Jersey Girl. They'd likely regret tangling with her.

Hopefully, they both really enjoy their time in London & they arrive home safe & sound.
As they are both ladies. I'm sure they'll get stuck into some weapons grade Christmas shopping o_O
Look out for your cheesy Big Ben snow-globe on Christmas day :joy:

Warm welcome to LauraLea and AJ. I hope they enjoy their time in London.
Sadly, I have agree with PetrolHead67's comments....

Are the girls staying in London the whole time or are they planning a side trip to England?

They are at a rented a cottage in Chelsea.

They went to Stonehenge today and were, reportedly, awestruck.

They are having a great time.

I told granddaughter, AJ, to order bubble and squeak next time they go to breakfast. She asked what it was. I told her to look it up. Apparently, she did. She just texted back "Ewwwww!"

They are going over to France for two days. They want to go to the Louvre and also see that big tower thingy in Paris.

    Cool!
They are definitely getting around then buddy!
Stone Henge is definitely a site to behold!

Paris is worse than London though. Sorry if this is starting to sound like I'm deliberately trying to put a damper on their European tour? But honestly I'm only trying to give you/them a heads-up.
France has an even bigger problem with illegal immigrants especially from Africa.

No, the cautionary warnings are appreciated, but she knows to be wary, keep her head on a swivel, etc. She's a performer and is in NYC, Philly, and Atlantic City quite a bit, all garden spots. Having her daughter with her makes her especially wary, in a mother grizzly bear kind of way.

My brother is visiting from Canada, and in London this week, - I just got a message from him at The Bike Shed. That is always one of his must visits..... us bikers.... one track minds!!

It's been a while since I was in Paris, but it's a beautiful city - see the artists and the view at Sacre-Coeur, The Louvre and Eiffel Tower of course, and Musee D'Orsay is interesting too. You used to get onto the roof terrace of Galleries Lafayette department store, don't know if you still do, but it was an impressive store anyway.

Also, just sit at a street cafe and people watch!
