    I was on the Dave Day ride and the support from everyone around was fantastic but I said to one guy, "Don't worry they will all hate us again tomorrow!"
    Si and Dave are well loved throughout the country but even they couldn't change the public opinion in our favour.

    I know what you mean but I watched a lot of their programmes and they rarely ever mentioned the bikes. There were usually brief shots of them riding but I can't recall any attempts to promote biking. Of course it was a programme about food but I often thought it was a missed opportunity.

    Fair point but I was thinking their characters may have made people think bikers aren't all bad.

    I don't believe most people think bikers are bad. Especially as nowadays the majority of bikers are at least middle-aged and often grey haired and hardly threatening. I reckon they think motorcycles are dangerous (some drivers clearly feel nervous when one approaches) and nowhere is it ever explained to them what the advantages are; they only see and hear about the disadvantages.
