Hello to everybody and glad to join the group. I am close to buy my first Triumph (oscillating between Speed Twin 900 and T120). I have been driving old bikes (registered as historical by now, as my BMW R80RT and a Moto Guzzi Le Mans III) and would like something contemporary but with the old look, I do not see myself on sharp modern naked or adventure bikes. Best!

Hi and welcome. Two good choices of bikes. If it was me I would go for the T120 for a couple of reasons. One it has a six speed gearbox and two it has much better performance over the ST900. But of course it is your choice. :)

Thanks for the tip! I was just worried by the 20kg in excess...and smaller and traditional forks (the new ST900 has 43mm reversed Marzocchi forks) and only one brake disk but with 4 pistons. But it is true that it has more power, cruise control, and probably more beauty. I am mainly concerned with the weight

I wouldn’t worry too much about about the extra weight, once the bike is rolling you won’t notice it. Depending on where you park your bike just think through the optimum way in which to move the bike safely around. You should then be fine :)

I second the opinion that the weight will require only a fleeting period of adjustment. My first bike was a Speed Triple (460 pounds). The second was a Sprint GT (590 pounds). The adjustment was relatively quick. Now I have a Trophy SE (662 pounds) and the Sprint feels like a bicycle!! Good luck with the decision!
PS. I love the countryside outside of Vienna (and the city is pretty, too). We rode bicycles along the Danube through the orchards on a clear, blue sky day in the summer, and it was wonderful!
