Hi all, i'm reading on this forum about the 12000-24000 miles (or 20000-40000 in kms) service and its steep price. Did anyone ever have a 36000 miles or 60000 km service (with valve check etc.)? Or does this service-rythm (every 12k miles) stop after the 24000?
Scheduled maintenance usually repeats itself at specified mileage intervals with time limits on some items. Valve checks are mileage based, eg, every 20k miles on my Scrambler, every 26k miles on the ZZR. The maintenance chart for your model should tell you. Some bikes, like my ZZR require camshaft removal to access the shims which adds enormously to the service cost, hence DIY.
Thanks. I asked because schedule in my user manual ends at 40.000 km. If schedule repeats itself every x-number of km's, the next would indeed be 60.000.
