Hi All, In a bit of a quandary ... I'm going service the bike (1050 speedy) soon for winter rest up, and thought i wonder if its worth paying for K&N air filter or buying OEM or other brands. So i was just wondering if theirs any advantages or con's in the other makes that peeps might have found.?? Cheers Phil
If you are intending a raft of changes, pipe, cam, remap etc. then an aftermarket filter may offer some benefit, but otherwise I would stick with oem. Oem is obviously matched to the system requirements and may offer better, as in finer, filtration, at the cost of additional airflow which may be unnecessary and of no benefit in the standard setup.
Indeed. There is that to be said as well. Triumph's costly RD must have been for a reason.... But other answers so far have me thinking also.. Cheers Phil
All I'm gonna say is take a look at the top post in this section... all about k and n failures. Triumph r and d put plenty of work into perfecting the running of their bikes. Nuff said.
Can i say with respect. I think your looking at another thread as im at th top of this... OEM could be safest if anything gets sucked inn.. Cheers
Here is what @sprintdave is talking about, first post in the Tech Help section https://www.thetriumphforum.com/threads/k-n-oil-filter-failure.9415/
I see thanks for that. Its another thread in th technical help that isnt on my thread... I thought Dave was answering to my thread.. Like i say... New here so bear with and it all helps
