And a bit further on. A little sporadic rain but no issue and not for long. Richa goretex jacket and trousers work well but a single front popper is a pain, where's the belt at these prices?
And todays main purchase in Thurso is? Who in their right mind designs expandable panniers that rely totally on the zip to hold the whole thing together It's at this stage I wish I'd brought my other glasses Cracking shop called "Elizabeth's" if you ever need any curtains or similar when you're passing
I'd recommend Invershin hotel especially if biking in poor weather. Warm, clean, tidy with good showers and usb equipped rooms. Wifi in the entrance area ( swinging seat picture). I thought prices were reasonable and will be going again when the opportunity arises.
Triumph street twin, the proper adventure bike Who needs knobbly tyres ( tires ) or a GS monster. Ok, so I clipped the mirror on the gatepost on the way in as I was more focused on not dropping it in the mud a little scuff, nah bother and I have x2 spares in the workshop anyway
A spot of late lunch, sausage casserole and dumplings washed down with a mug of tea. Then I need to get back to Scrabster.
A Scrabster local How much for a single can of pop out of a multipack (must not be sold singular so it says)?
Well the forecast was right, (Pics should be in the other order) But the rest of the week looks promising, so I'll settle for that. This old Vango 200+ tent of mine was originally chosen for the porch area, and in conditions like this it certainly comes in handy; Wet tent/ dry tent sections.
A quick snack last night before setting up. Is that really just one fish, seems generous? Harbour Fry, Kirkwall. Very nice
Never thought I would ever hear anyone say that about anything! Don't forget it's the Haggis rutting season so watch out for Haggis sh*t on the roads. Mr Eldon, the Bear Grylls of motorcycling!
Need to check but probably about 150 miles of riding yesterday, today ( Sat) is a zero miles day, a sort of touristy thing. Found an excellent museum in Kirkwall, looks nothing from the outside but full of fascinating kit from days gone by, so don't be put off by the title; Wireless Museum. Who remembers this game? Totally run by volunteers and on charity donations so I bought a hat Does it suit me?
As a radio ham myself I certainly would find that museum interesting. I'm not related to the Twatt family myself but I've been called one. I've still got one of those video tennis games in the loft somewhere but It'll not work on modern TV's unfortunately without a few mods. No comment on the hat!
