I really like how you've set up that trailer, @Vulpes. Steve and I and our buddy, Russell, are in the throes of considering getting a trailer since we've needed to trailer bikes twice now in the past several months. We sometimes talk about trailering someplace to do some new(er) trips/rides but always wind up riding from home. Perhaps with a trailer we'd be inclined to branch out a bit. I have noticed that everybody seems to have an opinion (and a strong one at that!) about how best to trailer, what type of trailer to get, how to tie the bike down, chocks, etc. I guess there's really no one "right" way to do it--although each person who expresses his opinion thinks his is just that! :joy:

It's just how I like to do it, Sandi. We only trailer when going on a biking holday together, as Jefta doesn't like riding long distances on motorways - we take two days to get to our destination (usually France or Italy) have day trips for a couple of weeks and drive back again. Very relaxed way of travelling. On my solo trips I never trailer. In fact, this Saturday I'm off to France to go see @Hubaxe - a two days ride to get there, then enjoy the lovely roads there! :) (Did you notice the dog bed in the boot (trunk to you) of the car?)

@Vulpes, it's great that you and Jefta have figured out a compromise. Some trailering (with the two of you) and you doing some solo trips. Speaking of solo trips, please greet @Hubaxe from Sandi T. if he remembers me. And have a great trip! I didn't notice the dog bed in the boot/trunk...but I did see you delightful pooch in the photo of the trailer parked for loading! How is that dog of yours??

@Markus, I am very late to your wonderful thread about this particular trip of yours. I thoroughly enjoyed your commentary and the photos were fabulous! I particularly liked the photos of the alpine passes and also the beautiful old town of Bregenz. Thank you for sharing your experiences with us! BTW, I'm wondering if you and your wife are retired? I think you win the award on the forum for the most trips and miles in a year! ;):joy: And I love reading about those miles!

@Sandi T: Many thanks to your comments.:kissing_heart: No, we are not retired. Both of us have still to work for more than one decade until we will get retired. We just use most of our spare time/vacation for our biking trips.;)
