I've my tiger 900 now for 50,000kms and it is very enjoyable

I tried to have my phone connected to the bike, but I hated the triump app and I no longer use it.

+1 on changing the front tyre to a 110

 

And you're a happy bunny. And at the end of the day that's all that matters.

Jeez Wessa you have had some bad luck but good to see it all worked out in the end. I'm amazed reading about new bikes using so much oil, my oldie t509 doesn't get even close to that, so much for progress. Good luck with the Tiger.

 

This is very rarely a problem these days with modern manufacturing and machining techniques. Engines don't need anything like the running in procedures they used to. I remember some early Z1000J engines suffering from bore glazing and high oil consumption.
My '91 FZR1000 occasionally had a disappearing oil "problem" which I never got to the bottom of. The oil light (level not pressure) came on while we were at the TT in '92 after topping up to the max level mark before setting off, no oil leaks, no smoke, nothing to explain the drop in level.

 

I reckon they pulled your pants down. But I also reckon that you enjoyed it.

That is really poor, my 1970”s tridents do better than that. With the massive leap since the 70ls in tolerances n machining you would expect much better. As an aside my 955 Daytona uses bugger all between services

I have only just seen this post so sorry for the delay.
Put it down to an age thing!
Congrats on the new bike, it looks very purposeful indeed.
What is it with new Triumphs and punctures though?
I picked my new Thruxton RS Final Edition up a month ago .
On the first ride out from home next day, a really old (18th Century!! ) roofing nail lodged itself into the back tyre. It held air until I found it when cleaning the bike back home....... phew
Just 120 miles from new. A new inner tube and repaired tyre sorted it, but it felt very wrong pulling the wheel out of a brand new bike all the same.
I hope the weather improves so we can all enjoy a spot of good riding under blue skies and on dry, clean roads.
