    Hi,

Just getting started on my MC drivers license, and wanting to get a Triumph for my first bike. I´m currently looking at the new Speed 400 or a new Trident 660.

Having a hard time deciding if the Trident 660 would be a good first bike or if you should go with the smaller Speed 400 and then work my way up. Which would be the better/ easier bike to learn driving skills?

I´m 52 years old, and wanted for many years to get a bike:)

    John

Welcome from South Yorkshire UK. Two very different bikes you mention there. Speed 400 with semi classic styling and "feel" and the Trident 660, quite a bit heavier (but still a fairly light bike) and a hell of a lot faster. Try them for size if you can but in your position I'd probably go for the Trident.

Hi and welcome. You need to test ride both bikes and then make your decision. IMO I would go for the 660 as you will quickly want more than the 400 can offer..

Hi welcome to the family. Do hit the upload a file button bottom right and show the inmates your bike. As said test both. You will find the 660 is a very confident bike and handles so well and is light enough to flick around. The 400 I don't know about as not ridden but it gets favourable reviews Joe

Thank you for the welcome and the suggestions,

I´m going to the dealer this Friday to check them out. For now i can just try them in the store as I have not started my driving lesson (may 13th is first lesson). But I would like to order the bike sooner rather than later so i have it for private learning as soon as I´m ready and before i go to take the practical exam.

I´ll upload photo when i get it:)

Hello John. I know Asker well. You near the Fjord or up towards the mountains? Here's a place you might know well.
