I still warm it up but just by taking a quick run round the block, just enough for the engine to be slightly warm to the touch but not hot. I find that does help but as said its not really necessary with most engine oils. Haven't burnt my fingers in a long time. Spilled it over the drive ...... yep done that a few times. It's a bugger to clean up an oil spill, take forever !
Mine was trying to screw on a nut that had a reverse thread on. So I was doing it the normal way which for this one was the way to undo it ....... Took me a minute to realise that I was going the wrong way ........
I'd love to 'teleport' my Street Twin to the South of France and ride it along the Med coast. I haven't the will to ride it there from up here in the frozen North. Top marks to this fella for coming here touring on his though.
I like the idea of that, My Wife would love the Touring in France, without the hassle of getting there, we did it 20+ years ago, once on a GSXR1100M, the second time on a GSXR750WP, she still bears the mental scars...
Cut the baffles down and put them back in my Bonnie after a month of running my tec sprints dirty. Then went for a ride around the moors, they will be coming out tomorrow as I need that roar!
Picked Tilly Tallulah up from the bike hospital. Oil service, new steering head bearings, new brakes front and back, and an MOT, fill up with fuel and a quick blast . Heaven.
Took a short trip out yesterday late afternoon to Church Stretton. Great views from the top of the long mynd . Unfortunately couldn't play up there cause unlike the speeds on MI2 my bike doesn't have the off road setting switch
Aaaaah Lymington - brings back great memories of when we lived in the Forest. Well this morning I'm just finishing my coffee, the bike is ready to roar and we're off! Don't know where, don't care! The sun is up, the sky is blue and so is my bike !!!!!!
I'm too much of a wuss to do it on my Triumph i'm afraid BS1948 ...... but my other bike is well prepared for trips like that. I've a pannier with cold/wet weather gear in it, a pannier with mesh jacket/gloves for the scorchio moments, a removable screen for a bit wind blast now and again. I really do look forward to my yearly Euro sojourn but I know my Street Twin will never be there.
Well once again ain't done nothing on my babys for a few days and a few days to come due to that which shall not be named , but can't complain about the view from the office
