New to this page, created an account to help figure out some bike issues.

In the first photo there is a mystery plug that I have no clue where it's meant to go, as the bike still runs fine. As fine as a bike with no O2 sensor runs.
Just wondering how important this is.

Secondly, a month or two ago when I took the tank off, one of the "nipples" under the fuel tank fell off, very corroded so it just fell off with a little touch.
I've seen photos of two hoses coming out of these but no where has anyone said where they're meant to go.

The broken nipple and the intact nipple should have hoses attached which exit beneath the engine. One is a tank vent hose and the other is an overflow hose which drains away fuel if the tank is overfilled and also drains rain or wash water. The fact that the hoses are missing does not affect anything as long as the vents are both clear but if you get fuel venting without the hose it will spray out beneath the tank which is not good for obvious reasons. I would not worry about the spare connector if the MIL light is not on and everything appears to be working ok.

Oh awesome thanks for the help. The one that fell off is completely blocked so hopefully that's just the overflow, I never fill it up 110% anyways.
My next question is if the radiator bypass hose is actually needed? I see on the newer ones 2002/2004 onwards that there is no bypass before on the radiator anymore. Albeit it's a different radiator design and the thermostat is probably in the engine, but still. Any insight on this? As my bypass one just got a hole repaired in it and I was told to not wiggle it too much. So thought I'd just block it off.

Not sure but I think the broken/blocked nipple is the one for the drain hose? I would still unblock it as it also drains any water from under the fuel cap around the filler neck (the cap only seals at the bottom where it contacts the filler neck but not around the top of the tank where rain or wash water can get in). If you hear a whoosh when the filler cap is opened then the vent is also blocked and creating a vacuum in the tank. The 2002 model has a different engine with a different cooling system so I would sort out and retain the bypass hose. Visit World of Triumph website for parts diagrams and availability.
