After the initial break-in period for my T100, I decided I'd change the oil and filter myself but try as I might, I could not loosen the original filter. I had purchased the filter wrench for the OEM filter but it didn't budge the filter and slipped off as soon as pressure was applied. My fix: I loaded the inside of the filter wrench with epoxy then slid it onto the filter and let it dry overnight. The next day I fitted the socket wrench onto the oil filter wrench and the filter came right off. I replaced the OEM filter with a K&N and no further issues were had.

This isn't a fault with the original filter, it's the fault of the arsehole who overtightened it. 10Nm or around 7.4lb/ft is the correct torque which is not much more than hand tight.
I've had filters in the past that were way overtightened during dealer servicing.

You are exactly right, Pegscraper, I couldn't believe how tight the filter was from the factory. I never want to deal with that issue again so I'll be doing my own oil changes going forward. Plus, the nearest dealership to me is two hours away and they charge $105 for the oil change. No thanks.
