Bought a bike off them many years ago when the shop was inside York city wall before they moved to their current premises. Got to know Darren quite well and was a regular visitor to A1. Definitely one of the better dealers.

Had MOT done on Speed Triple 1050 RS today. Passed but with advisory on warped brake discs. Not urgent but will need to replace them at some point. Probably looking at EBC discs plus pads. Any recommendations?

I never noticed any issues on the road but the MOT brake tester said it was pulsing suggesting warped discs. 13600 miles on the clock.

It seems that if I don't fix it before next year's MOT it will probably fail next time. Trouble is it's going to be an expensive fix for new discs and pads. No rush though. Got to say I'm not impressed with the original Brembo discs and won't be using them again. I don't do track days so the brakes have never been overly abused.

I also, in addition to the above 900, have a 765rs which I've had from 272 miles, it now has 12030 miles.
The front pads had a recall when mine were about 6k miles old.
Now this bike leads a cosseted life with regular washes, cleans and pampering yet if I'm been really picky, which I am normally anyway, then there is a very slight pulse starting just before standstill.

No seized calipers, no neglect, no trackdays.

    Go figure!

Seems a common issue then. Disappointing really after a relatively low mileage. I will check the disc thickness later but there is nothing to suggest significant wear and I expect them to be in spec. I don't have a dial gauge but might get one to check the runout.

First ride out of the year on the Tiger for myself and Mrs Boothman. Didn’t go far and all was uneventful but put a smile on our faces.

Beware, difficult to check runout if its a floating disc as it could be misleading,
I'm not sure on your model, but assume yours is.

A ride out with the wife yesterday to Terrington village shop/cafe. Homemade large scotch eggs, egg custard and coffee :yum
Followed by a potter through the lanes and a look at the repaired, after a fair out of service period, and now re-opened, Aldwark toll bridge.
    Free to motorcycles and cyclists.

Good point, yes got floating discs. Checked each disc thickness 4.46/4.47mm so minimal wear (4.5mm new and 4.0mm service limit). Permissible runout is only 0.3mm so not much. Seems I have no choice but to replace before next MOT to avoid a fail.

It sounds like your discs may not be fully floating anymore and could be sticking on the rivets. The big advantage of FF discs is their resistance to heat induced warpage. I had a similar occurrence on my FZR1000 in '91 and the discs were changed FOC by Yamaha, even though the bike was 2 months out of warranty.

I hope you considered the wind direction when you release those bodily fluids, @Pegscraper! ;):joy: Other than the wind it looks like it was a lovely day for a ride.

A "nosey". I like that @Eldon. :) That's what I'll tell my hubby I'm going to do the next time I ride over to check out the bike offerings at the Harley and/or Triumph dealerships.

great ride out for breakfast. Johnny Baghdads for breakfast. A couple of lovely four wheeled Triumphs were outside.
I have no idea how I have managed to upload two of each picture.
