Hello from Berkshire. I have a 2006 Triumph Bonneville T100 (865cc) carb model which I got a couple of years ago after seeing some great examples at Newlands Corner and deciding I just had to get one. Absolutely love it and enjoy both riding and maintaining it.
@Mal1R. Welcome to the family. Yes I to like the early 790 Bonnies they do sound so good and as close to the old T140'S as you will get. Would have another tomorrow but all the ones I have purchased over the last couple of years have had some butcher who thinks they are mechanics botch them up. But you seem to have a good one. Do hit the upload a file button below and show us all a picture of the machine. Joe
Hello Joe - thanks for message. So mine is a T100 and the one previous owner really looked after it so well. I have been considering getting rid of it as I love working on bikes and my garage is too small for the few I have. The Bonnie is taking up way more floor space than my others as it doesn’t have a centre stand but I’m now in the process of getting one. Hope all works out with the stand so I can consider other options . I’ve attached a couple of pictures as you suggested.
Thanks Dawsy - it’s a Himalayan. I got it just a couple of days ago. I’ve had a number of Honda CG125s over the last few years as I love how maintainable they are and I spend more time mucking about in the garage than actually riding these days. This led me towards single cylinder Royal Enfields, again the attraction being able to work on them.
Love the paint on the Bonnie! Not a fan of carburetors, but that is a beauty! Here's the advantage of having fuel injection: I started about 7,000 ft lower than this destination!
Thanks for your message. Realistically as I only use it for occasional local run outs , changes in altitude probably won’t be an issue . You have a lovely bike there and great roads by the look of it.
