    Hi folks

newbie here. Looking to buy a sprint st 1050….. local dealer has sent me a video of the bike in question running but it’s clearly idling at zero rpm on the clocks? It sounds like it’s running ok - and the rpms move when it’s given throttle… but always returns to idle rest at zero rpm? I’ve raised question with dealer - just intrigued what might this be a symptom of? Should I give them a chance to remedy or just continue my search for an ST elsewhere?

It cannot possibly idle at 0 rpm so the issue must be with the instruments. If the dealer cannot fix this I would give it a wide berth.

I agree with Triple X, give it a wide berth if the dealer can't fix it and give you a warranty on the fix. No point in buying a bike that already has a built-in problem.

I've just put my 2010 Sprint ST1050 up for sale on this forum. Have a look at my ad. If you're interested, please get in touch. Obviously it's a privale sale so no warranty but the bike was professionally serviced and MoT'd just yesterday so it's in tip top condition. I wouldn't try to sell on a bike to a fellow Triumph enthusiast if I knew it had a problem.
