Had a puncture in the front today how do you guys lift the front wheel off the ground? I've done it with a rear paddock stand and and a scissor jack and a piece of 2x1 under the engine in the past on my other bikes. Tubed as well I believe? TIA
hi there, Lifting the front wheel I do the same as you, apart from I use a plank of wood about 6" by 1" on a trolley jack. If you look under the frame at the front of the bike there are two flat tabs welded on which balance the bike perfectly. If I am leaving the bike suspended for any length of time I am lucky in that I have a beam in the garage roof that I put a sling and a couple of ratchet straps over and secure to the handlebars. Just as belt and braces in case the trolley jack throws a wobbly. Cheers
That's exactly how i was thinking of doing it i have a beam in the garage i was thinking of using Thank you
I use a headstock stand for the front of my Thruxton R. My bike lives off the ground. Heres previous thread check last page I posted some images of it. https://www.thetriumphforum.com/threads/thruxton-r-paddock-stands-uk-dilemma.30400/page-2 Made by pro bike and very sturdy. It was Triumph technical at head office who recommended them to me.
