The logo is definitely going to be painted, as I've already mentioned. Good idea re the show, although I'd like to think I'll have proceeded by then. PS Just had a look at the Bad Dog Paintwork website, but can't say I was overwhelmed.
I hadn't checked out the Bad Dog website, I was basing my opinion on seeing his work at the show. You're right, the website isn't the most inspiring.
In some ways I agree with you @beerkat about the badge. I like the badge; it’s used on my Street Cup and the Speed Twin and looks better on the sportier Bonnie’s than the traditional badges used on the T100/120. But I also agree that a painted “Triumph” will look better; the Thruxton FE being a great example. For me it would be about keeping it subtle, customs can often end up trying too hard and the T120 black is a classic beauty. I’m also aware that I’m vicariously spending @learningtofly’s money with my suggestions. It’ll be fun seeing what develops.
I've had a spare tank for a Street Twin (and probably the Street Cup) sitting in my garage for a couple of years. It was advertised as damaged and I think I got it for £125. It's brand new, never used, in original Triumph box with a small dent (50p size) and barely noticeable scratch. I reckon something fell on it during storage and they obviously couldn't sell it for the usual £300+ price, so they stuck it on eBay. I've been waiting for inspiration to strike so I can get it custom painted, probably by my local bike paintshop Ride & Restore (in Adlington, Cheshire).

I like your ideas, @RevPaul, particularly your idea about vicariously spending @learningtofly's money. I refer to this spending "method" as OPM -- Other People's Money. I've gotten quite good at it...lots of practice. Just ask my riding buddies..

Someone at Triumph must have been following your thread and liked where you were going (it is a lovely colour). Maybe you could ask for royalties.
I refer my learned friend to the rather more crude but very much earlier example of a not unfamiliar theme ...... ... from the same 'brand' if not quite the same company! Nothing new under the sun, I guess.
Hey, no worries at all! Understandably, you couldn't go too far or find the most photogenic locations. Sometimes health and weather can be a bit challenging. But I'm glad you managed to get out and take some photos. I'm sure they turned out great, regardless of the harsh sun. How's the bike doing? Any updates or modifications you've made recently?
Possibly, but would need more brass on the bike to make it a theme. I’ll likely get it powder coated black at some point.
There is a little "brass" at the top of the fake carbs, but I agree not enough to go with brass. Isn't the heel guard only on the RHS on this bike? If so, and you feel you must change it, then I'd go black. But IMHO you need a few little contrasting highlights. Does a T120 / T100 really need a heel guard? I'd say not. The real problem is Triumph decided to use the same modern "upgraded" heel guard on the late Street Twin / Speed Twin 900 models (probably to save manufacturing costs. If they must have a heel guard what you really want is the old school drilled heel guard from the early Street Twin / Street Cup (but the drill holes are probably different). Better still would be to swap the sprocket cover for the accessory version with the "mesh" vent. Then if you must go all black just remove the mesh and spray it black. But she's a beauty as she is and that's the cheapest solution.
Yes Paul, it’s just the one side of course. I also agree with you in that no, I don’t think the T120 requires a heel guard at all (in fact, I’m currently thinking about whether I just remove it altogether). If I don’t do that, however, black is the only other option. Now, having said all that you’ve also given me a little bit of food for thought with some of your other comments and I shall now go away and do some further research.
