I believe that’s correct. I did the self re-learn a couple of times after various changes and it seems to do the trick.

I must be missing something here.....

I can't seem to see where I can start a new post.

Having issues starting my 2017 Scrambler 900 after letting it sit for a few months on a trickle. Battery seems Ok but will not turn over. Pull out the "pretend" choke and it sounds like it will not turn over. Thinking it might be some bad gas so I put some "Stabil" in the tank and fresh gas. Took it off the stand and put it on the side stand. Not starting up today either. Lights don't seem to be dying as it starts but bot "catching" to start. Pretend choke and nothing but leave the choke closed and it almost starts. Starts then sputters off.

Just trying to narrow down the options.

Just moved the tank around and squeezed the duel line to see if something might be stuck or clogged. Bought some carb cleaner today but the tank is full now of fresh gas and some "Stabil".

If a mod wants to move this....Sorry for the inconvenience.

I saw a video online where if the battery is not fully charged the ECU won't let it start. Not sure if this is still true with the newer bikes. Might try a new battery.

Bought and installed a new battery.
    Replaced spark plugs
Removed tank and emptied gas that had sediment in it. Cleaned the inside of the tank.
Installed a new fuel filter and cleaned the steel wool "filter trap". Not bad.
    Put everything back together.
Put in a 1/2 gallon of premium gas.
Tried to start with idle adjuster not pulled out....Bike started but sputtered 6 sends later and died. Would not start again.
Tried the idle adjuster and it won't spark at all.
Come back ten minutes later and with idle adjuster not pulled out, it will idle for 6-8 seconds and then die out. It will not let me twist the throttle or pull out the adjuster in an attempt to give it more gas. Hmmmmmm. Closer.
I am thinking the Fuel injectors might be clogged due to bad gas, sediment or gummy from sitting. Trying to learn the easiest way to clean without disassembling the entire bike.
Any thoughts from anyone? Anyone with similar issues?

Just thought I'd post a photo showing my latest mods, replaced the pillion seat with a rack and fitted a Tail Tidy which I think is a vast improvement on the bikes back end :)

Well, I put in a new battery, fuel filter, drained the tank of old gas, added some carb cleaner, checked the air filter, changed the spark plugs, and changed the fuel pump.
It starts up (without the idle adjuster pulled out). If I pull out the idle adjuster it will not start at all. It still sputters when I give it gas. I am guessing that it got "Gummy" over the winter.

I am down to 2 last ideas to get it back to perfect. Fuel pressure regulator and take apart/clean the fuel injectors. The fuel pressure regulator looks to be easy to replace but I can't figure out how to get to the fuel injectors yet. Anyone know how?

A gratuitous photo of it in the sun idling.

My 2014 Scrambler - picked it up in January and have been doing some light mods on it since (seat, renthal bar, grips, mirrors, filter, exhaust, chain guard...).

A few things still left to do - dresser bars (once I find some!), front fork bobbins, a pannier rack, and (maybe!) some new YSS rear shocks - but love it so far.
