    UPDATE 2:
Got a call from the garage, good news !! it seems that the engine is nice and strong and the oil is getting round OK, so they've eliminated blocked galleries or knackered oil pump, there was a bit of play in the inlet valves which is now sorted.

The mechanic has a friend (handily enough) who works at Triumph !! he thinks the culprit could be the backlash gears, which would make sense of the noise seeming to come from the top end.

This is all a mystery to me (I'm not up to speed on backlash technics) but apparently, the bike will continue to ride fine as it is but would be noisier than normal.

So I think I'll ride it as is and look to get the backlash gears replaced over the winter...
    Cost so far: £40.

Great news Volkstrat and at a very sensible price indeed, Have you any idea as to the price/cost your facing to have the whole job done once and for all once the winter arrives ?

Cheers, not sure of the price, the gears are around £70 each so that, plus labour should be around the £300 mark..

Got the bike back yesterday and what a difference !!!

It's nice and tight with a throaty sound, everything has been checked over, clearances made and everything torqued down.

It honestly feels like a different bike..
(OK there's still a noise but it now seems no worse than a lot of Triumphs I've heard) Fingers crossed...

One happy T100 owner and I can't recommend these guys enough, they are bikers who want to keep bikes on the road.
    They're also really nice blokes.

    Total cost, £100 cash...
