Hi I fitted my drypack holder onto the tank of my new bike, so if you haven't used one the converter is attached to the bike and you can clip your drypacks (which come in different sizes) to it.

Anyway the point is you secure the holder to the bike with a strap from each corner, the rear ones go under the seat and use velcro. The front one either go around the headstock or frame is accessible... However one inspection I discovered that the petrol tank on the Thruxton R has a mounting point under the tank, one each side at the front. They don't actually leap out a you and I am not sure why they are there, possibly its what they hang the tak on when they paint it but dead handy for securing the straps. To be clear these points do not do anything else and they are better than going around the headstock.

Figured it was worth the mention!

    Andy

PS - Kriega by the way is based in Chester and they will sell direct from the factory (if you go) at a discount, I know cause I have :)

Hi I didn't need to remove the tank the mounting points are towards the outside edge of the tank underneath obviously and easily accessible. As said they don't appear to serve any purpose I reckon they may have been their for the manufacture process. The Kriega straps happen to be exactly the right width 1 inch estimate. I did use some wonder web type stuff under the straps around the edge of the tank to protect the paintwork. At the rear I stuck the supplied Velcro pads to which the rear straps attach under the seat immediately in front of the points on the frame that the rubber feat from the seat sit in at the front left and right. Hope that helps Andy

Thanks Andy, I'm going to go to my local Kriega stockist and "try out" the bags see what seems to fit the best. thinking 10ltr on tank and maybe 30ltr on the tail section.

I have the dry pack bag it's really good 100% waterproof and I've had for years and it's still good as new. I also have the R30 backpack it's quite big, if you haven't tried one the shoulder straps work like a parachute removing much of the weight from the shoulders which is good.

The under tank mounting points are for attachment of the Race Fairing brackets that hold the back of the race fairing 'off' the tank and also provide a mounting point for the relocated front indicators. LHS Bracket in the is photo (https://flic.kr/p/JVmg3r)

I have yet to fit my harness so I'll have to see at some time how it'll work with the race fairing fitted

Got any pics of your tank pack in-situ?

Had a Kreiga R25 backpack for years. Just an ace bit of kit.

    Hi Andy
I've got the same bike and just bought the same bags for a trip next week so this info has been really helpful, thanks for putting it up on the forum. One question, have you adjusted the straps on the tank converter so that the tank filler cap is exposed or does it have to sit under the Kriega converter?
