Hi, I'm Kelvin owner of 2006 Triumph Daytona 955i 2006, new to forums so please bear with me! I am looking to replace the engine, can anyone tell me how easy it is to replace with a speed triple 1050 engine (2005-2010 model). Or earlier 2002 engine 955i?
Particularly looking to learn any anomalies, any other mods required etc. Can anyone help me as mine is very broken!

Hi Kelvin, first of all the 955i engine and the 1050 are completely different, you will need a whole raft of parts, the 1050 is not a straight swap for the 955i in a Daytona, the ECU, wiring loom, relays, fuel pump, drive chain alignment, and the list goes on and on, the later sprint (single sided swing arm models) RS and ST 955i will fit as will the 955i Speed Triple engine, the Daytona engine you have made a little more power. You don't say why you want to replace the engine in your machine, and unless it has a huge hole in the crankcase through a thrown rod all else can be repaired, the engine is a big heavy lump to get in and out on your own unless you have good facilities for raising it into position. Let the forum know what the engine issue is.
