Today our Sunday morning group was small and we opted for a rather close to home breakfast ride as the weather seemed a bit threatening. So we headed north to the town of Oracle and the Oracle Patio Cafe.

I rode El Gordo and was pleased that my front brake problem finally appears to be fixed. Long story, but I wound up with a new ABS module and, when that didn't solve the issue, my dealership also replaced the master cylinder.

Another older H-D Fat Boy was here today, too, but not in our group.

    IMG_7154.jpeg

Does anyone know what this car is???

    IMG_7153.jpeg

There's a little market inside the Patio Cafe and today I noticed this new display. I should have gotten a "beer" for Ellie!

Although the skies were threatening and we rode home in ferocious winds, the temperatures were down about 30-35ºF! :)

Well, well, It seems I haven't yet learned to just go to bed when I'm tired rather than squeezing in a few last posts. As I've done a couple of times in the past, I just put posted on the "What you been doing with your Triumph today?" here instead of in the "What you been doing with your NON-Triumph today? thread. Sheesh........ Maybe El Gordo secretly yearns to be a Triumph?? ;):joy:

Ok, right motorcycle brand this time but wrong day. This is what I did with my Speed Triple RS last weekend. It was my first ride on Speedy since we returned from our Sturgis trip so he was due for a good little shake-out.

    Breakfast ride to Coyote Pause........

A recent purchase at the Sturgis rally. This was one of my buddy's purchases, not mine. ;) The significance of the Jackpine Gypsies M/C is that they were the club that started the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally 83 years ago in the Black Hills.

Just a shorty ride but it felt good to be on this bike again. And it felt much different after riding a big Harley touring bike for 3K miles!

Roads now open again around Glasgow, now we only need to put up with lycra clad pensioners cycling 3 abreast again. Wobbling all over the place,, they had the cheek to complain I was too close behind them at 10mph, yet I couldn't get my speed triple past them with the required 3feet margin. Ruined their wee chat for 5mins as they kept looking for me to pass,, they didn't move into single file so I couldn't :)

You had me double checking my link then @Helmut Visor in case of error on my part and so providing inappropriate advice

Interesting point though Helmut as I have both products ( glass version and plastic version) and never used the wrong one on the wrong one, or had need to, but a wise caution indeed.
Don't you think the manufacturer should make this more apparent?

Haha, no bud your link was fine but figured it would be easy to just see RainX and buy without realising there are two different types out there so figured it was worth a mention ;)

That is an odd coincidence, @Helmet Visor! I wonder what the odds are of you and me both seeing one of these (seemingly) rare cars one day apart. Thanks for identifying it for me. :)

Thanks, @Helmut Visor. I've just been doing a little research since I always heard to avoid Rain-X like the plague. But I also figured that guys here would not steer me wrong. Looks like the Rain-X folks finally figured it would be good to make a product that can be used safely and successfully on plastic.

Been part of this group for a long time but not in the last few years. Too much work and life in the way. I do the same thing every day with my Trophy. Ride to work and then on the weekends, if it isn't scorching hot like we have had here for awhile, ride to somewhere interesting just for the ride.

Today Helmut and I had a nice day out - I took my Street Triple and he took the Tuono. We did a few roads we rarely go on and went for the first time to the Silver Fox cafe https://www.thesilverfoxcafe.co.uk in Newnham, which was really friendly, served a decent cup of coffee and was frequented by plenty of bikes ( must be alright then ). When we arrived, there were a Street Triple and Tuono already there - turned out they were riding together too…Helmut had to take a photo of them lined up two-by-two.

We then went just up the road to Littledean Jail https://www.littledeanjail.com for a look around. It was absolutely bonkers!! There is no way to describe quite what it is like…definitely a place that needs to be seen to be believed.

After that, we went on some roads through the Forest of Dean that the Street Triple was made for, went across to Chepstow and then to the Old Station Cafe, Tintern before heading home on some more excellent roads. The cafe had some sort of wasp convention on, they were everywhere . I was really careful (I thought) to make sure I didn’t take any with me when we left, so thought I was being paranoid for about 30 minutes thinking something was crawling around on my head…then I saw one casually strolling across in front of my eyes on the inside of my visor and back into my helmet so hastily stopped and evicted the beastie :p.

There were a few showers we got caught in but in the main the weather held as well so it was a pretty top day out :).

EDIT: Sorry for the same photo twice, I can't remove it when I edit o_O:blush:.

Loved your ride report, @Mrs Visor! Looks like you and Helmut had a grand day out. :)Great "two by two photos". What a neat coincidence. Glad you didn't get stung by the waspie. BTW, I've had the same issue with a repeated photo and not being able to delete one. In fact, I just had that happen in the last post I did on the Sturgis thread. Frustrating but certainly small potatoes in the grand scheme of things.
