I'm considering purchasing a 2014 Triumph America LT and thought I would join this site to get some information. Thank you.
Should add that I'm a long time Harley rider (Road Kings and Ultra Classics) but I haven't ridden in a few years. I got the bug again at 77 years of age and looking for something smaller and lighter than the Harleys I've had. This 2014 America LT seems like it might be a good fit and something a little different. I hope to take it for a test drive this next week. I'd appreciate what you other Triumph riders think or have advice for me. BTW I'm very fit for my age. Do a lot of bicycle riding and weight lifting so I'm in very good shape,
Since I've never owned a bike with a chain drive I would like to know how big an issue it is to keep the chain clean and lubed? How often must it be done? This bike wouldn't be ridden much and only on paved roads. Thanks for your help and advice.
Hi there! Welcome to the forum! Come up with your questions. One of our "Thriumphants" will be able to answer them.
I am lubricating my chain after every ride in the rain. Depending on the dirt-development on my chain I clean and lubricate it every 750-1.000 km.
The Triumph I looked at didn't work out. Very nice looking bike but after seeing it there were some issues that I wasn't comfortable with so I passed on it. I found a "like new" 2005 Harley Heritage Softail Classic and have decided to go that route.
