A Weekend On Two Wheels Without A Motor

Last weekend my wife and I took our car out of the garage, attached our mountain bikes on it and drove to the northern part of Austria called 'Waldviertel". We did two mountain bike tours and jumped into a lake called " Ottensteiner Stausee". For navigation we used a smartphone-app called "Komoot". It is really useful for hiking and biking, normally. On the first tour everything was great and we cooled down in the lake after a 30 km ride.
On the second day we took another tour and had lots of non expected highlights. The app came up with a route which was partial not ridable with a bike due to high grass, thorny bushes and nettle perennials. What a fun!
Additionally we had to pass a small river 4 times and some parts of the way led through a marsh area. But, we made it. Nearly 40 km under partial crazy conditions. Afterwards we had to maintain our bikes and ourselves. Our legs are decorated with scratches and stinging nettle rash for the next weeks.
