Um, no. Definitely NOT what I would consider hot! :sun::cool::joy:

It's currently 10:30am here in Arizona's Sonoran Desert. A little toasty. The skies are starting to get that "monsoon season" look though, so we're keeping fingers crossed that we'll get those refreshing, life-giving rains soon!

Beautiful temps, Steve! We're not even cooling down to those temperatures overnight right now, I'm afraid. Enjoy that beautiful weather! :sun:

Commute on the Blade for me today, there was a lot of rain threatened by the skies but only got caught in a few spots here and there :).

Yikes! It's already Wednesday night and here I am reporting on what I did with my non-Triumph 3 days ago on our weekly Sunday breakfast ride (and not today like the thread title says)! Oh well, it's so hot here that sometimes time and days just all flow (or melt?) into each other.

Anyway, our group was small at six riders. We decided to go to a Mexican favorite of our, Mi Pueblito, in the town of Mammoth about 50 miles up the road. It was already toasty warm when we met at the local QuikTrip gas station to fill up. Mr. Sandi (Steve) had just gotten a new-to-him 2021 Harley Road Glide Special so was up for a bit longer ride.

    IMG_6117.jpeg

The ride to Mammoth was, as usual, quite lovely. But when we arrived at Mi Pueblito, we were surprised to see how quiet it was. Everyone in the group on this day except for one are going to Sturgis a week from Saturday. And one guy who is going was not on the ride--visiting grandkids in Washington state.

When we arrived we saw that another group of motorcyclists had beaten us to the table. They, like we, had a diverse bunch of bikes.

    IMG_6116.jpeg

Mi Pueblito also has an ice cream shop and a bakery. No ice cream for us this morning but I did have a delicious flour tortilla with my tamale/eggs/refried beans breakfast.

Here's Steve’s Road Glide Special. He traded his 2017 Street Glide for it about a week ago. His old bike had 40K miles on it and this new one has only 2500! He's very happy with this bike and is eager to ride it to the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally in a week and a half. Today's ride was just shy of 100 miles so it was Steve's first "real" ride on the new bike.

It was probably about 85ºF when we met up at the QT this morning and here's what the temperatures were when we got home and pulled into the garage. I did pack my cooling vest and gave it a good soak at the restaurant before we mounted up after breakfast and headed home.

Yesterday (again, not today), Steve and I rode to Tucson H-D so he could get a few niggling issues ironed out with his new bike. I tagged along on El Gordo, my H-D Fat Boy.

But....Steve and our buddy, Russell, did the "shade tree mechanic" thing on Steve's bike from about 9am until early afternoon so we didn't get on the road to the dealership until 1:30pm. Not smart. This was the temperature when we got home from that little outing. Fortunately the dealership is only 12 miles from our house so most of the intervening two hours was indoors. The silver lining is we are certainly becoming acclimated to riding in the heat!:p

Yes it's pretty hot around southern europe too. Just at the moment I prefer the damp cooler weather we're having. Much above 22c is too hot for me, 30c and above is just torture though i've travelled the US quite a bit in the past and experienced 100f + in Wyoming but found the drier heat slightly more tolerable.
Whenever we get high 20c's here it's just so humid. Still, it's friday tomorrow and that's pub night so all will be well whatever the weather. Plus my wife is going to visit her mum so I can get a kebab on the way home and won't have to share it. :D (not that she would have more than a bit of chicken).

"...that's pub night so all will be well whatever the weather." :joy::joy::joy: I get that, @andypandy! That and not having to share that kebab. Much as I love my my hubby, I feel that way about my desserts. My thought is that if you want to eat half of mine, why not order your own? ;)

You are definitely right that the drier heat is more tolerable. Lately here it has felt quite humid but when I actually check the weather I find that it's only around 15-20%! But I guess that seems humid when our usual humidity readings are under 10%.

Another commute on the Blade for me today; carrying my full waterproofs meant that I avoided the rain bar a few spots :p. Swapped the bikes in the garage when I got home so next one out will be the Street Triple; got to be fair .

Thats 400 miles down on the new but familiar Superduke. It's great to be back on a big V-twin... scrubbing the miles off round the beautiful north coast.
