Hopefully should prove reliable then and provide hours of troublefree enjoyment

This afternoon I rode our the local Harley dealership on my Street Glide to continue to acclimatize to our Arizona summer heat. It was par for the course for this time of the year in southern Arizona--VERY quiet. But at least I found a shady place to park so my bike stayed cool(er) while I chatted with a few friends inside. I had also planned to ride from there to our local Triumph dealership but once I got back on my bike I decided that might not be the best course of action and headed home instead. Fortunately I only live 12 miles from Tucson H-D or I might have had heat stroke!:sun::sun::sun: Well, actually, it wasn't really all that bad. :)

This is the service area side of the building. I like to park here when it's sunny and hot if there's not a lot of activity going on. And today there was precious little activity, that's for sure.

This is looking down the breezeway that leads to the main entrance. I thought I'd seen something indicating that there would be some special event stuff going on since it's July 4th -- Independence Day weekend. Nope. But I did wind up chatting with two H-D staff that I know quite well and we talked scuba diving which was fun. :)

Bloody hell, that’s hot. What do you wear for riding when it’s like this - mesh, presumably?

Yep, mesh for sure, @learningtofly. :) In fact, I have several mesh riding jackets since I wear them so much of the year (and so each jacket matches each bike, of course). While I always have body armor in all of them, they're still much cooler than my textile and leather jackets.

We just got home from our Sunday ride about half an hour ago. I brought my cooling vest with me in anticipation of another toasty ride today, particularly on the way home when it would be close to noon. When we left the house to meet our buddies, I had the vest all prepped and stored in my saddlebag in an insulated bag. I really didn't need it on the way to our breakfast destination 50 miles away but I was certainly happy I put it on for the ride home! I checked the temperature when we got back to our house and it was much cooler than yesterday. Today it was "only" 102ºF rather than the 105ºF yesterday. ;):joy:

It sure doesn't look like it does, doesn't it, Steve? :joy: I parked on a side of the building that actually doesn't have any windows because it's where the service area is located. There's just a door and then some big garage doors further to the right. All of the windows are further on down the breezeway and also on the opposite side of the building from where I parked. There's lots of motorcycle only parking in front of the dealership....but precious little shade. I usually park in the designated parking but this time of the year I become what I call a "shade buzzard" and find whatever shade there is to be had.

I figured that might be the case Sandi
I could make a cheap joke about a brick wall being the best display option for Harleys but I won't :D

Helmut and I went to Donington for World Superbikes this weekend - the weather was pretty drizzly and miserable for travelling there and tent set up on the Friday but stayed dry at least on the Saturday and Sunday if not more than a little windy! My weekend got off to a great start when a very damp and bedraggled me spotted Maria Costello who was lovely and stopped for a photo .

We camped on the infield where there was a good atmosphere, our “neighbours” were nice and there was plenty of entertainment in the evenings when the racing had finished. It was the first time I had ever been to WSBK so it’s fair to say I was very enthusiastic and excited about ALL of it, watching the racing live was incredible and it was a pretty packed schedule for both days with all of the “extra” races in addition to the main Supersport and Superbike events which kept us more than entertained. We got home last night and have had a day’s leave today to get back down to earth with a bump…back to work tomorrow.

Well, it would have cooled down a bit by the time it got here
To be fair we've had the hottest June since records began in 1884, apparently :D

Well yes, but that means that the average temperature was only 60.44 Fahrenheit! :joy:
Not really what you would consider hot.

Commute for me on the Blade today; got to take the car tomorrow as I need to be smart rather than having helmet hair.
