So I had my test ride this afters and was very pleased to find it lived up to all the hype !
Had a couple of hours on it and found it to be very easy to ride and very responsive (sport mode is very sharp in 1st and 2nd gears, lifted the front slightly). What an awesome machine.
I'm coming to it from riding a Ducati 748 so the riding position is very comfy in comparison. I was suprised at how well it leans into bends it's very confidence inspiring.

The only downside is its too quiet, those exhaust pipes will have to go, and I'll be sorting a tail tidy plus smaller indicators (clear).

Next question- who to use for insurance please?
Big shout to Team Roberts at Doncaster who have been ace and gave me a fabulous trade in offer on my 748.

Were you seduced by Phil Roberts offer of free Hob-nobs?
They are very good to deal with, or were last time I was there. Must be four years since I last crossed their threshold, so it's about time I called in again.:)

14 days before my 48th lol

I've never bought a new bike before. Never felt the need tbh, always had used sports bikes.
So glad this rides like a sporty bike, I couldn't do with a heavy cruiser.
I'm no wheelie merchant but it felt like it would pop up in sport mode if a bit eager.

I rode back in normal road mode and it definitely softens it off nicely if you want it.

Anyone going for a front fairing? Not sure I would but maybe a small fly screen, tail tidy and indicators . Plenty of time to choose bits, just hope I get some Indian summer weather in late September

Seems I was lucky with getting hold of one quickly....went into a dealer on a Tuesday and declined a test ride when I found out that it'd be September before there was one available. Got a call from the dealer on the Friday to say they had 'found' one. Test ride and ordered the next day and picked up a couple of weekends later. :)

Very happy with mine with the fairing which was fitted after a week at the first service.

Agree that the bike needs a tail tidy (R&G 'pre-ordered'), smaller indicators (should arrive today) and a little more noise, though I suspect that most of the silencing is effectively in the cat. I am waiting for the 'aftermarket' suppliers to get something sorted out. I was disappointed with the sound of the V&H EU silencers, though yet to hear the US one.

Other than R+G who else is already doing bits? Disappointed to hear the silencers available so far aren't that sporty /loud. Wonder if you can do something internally with them? Would like to hear a set tbh

is it worth contacting any of the bike "specialists"?
I'm insured with Footman James for the duke but they wont touch modern bikes on these policies.

just done the meerkat thing and got a best quote at £171 with Hastings Direct. does anyone know what the factory alarm/set up is on the R? i just ticked "factory fitted".
ive got 6 points for speeding so that price isnt bad at all.

Crazy world of insurance. I pay 400 quid for a daily driver car worth 500 quid. I've got a porsche 993 which is valued at 60k and costs 273 quid p.a and then it's 171 English pounds for a brand new 1200cc torque monster bike :)

Not sure if I've done the right thing but team Roberts are offering free fitting on accessories ordered with the bike. I've ordered the tail tidy, mini indicators and chain guard. I'm just hoping the factory tail tidy is right and tucks the number plate right up against the seat. Dealer said they can sort that. Didn't realise just how many parts available to customise these. Fun to come for sure. I like the look of the triumph ribbed covers to bolt on the engine and clutch cases. I want noisy pipes too but held off till I hear some in real life.

Anyone else been spending prior to getting their bike? Talk about modifying bug lol

If I were you I'd hold off on the exhausts for a while as I'm sure there will be more choice soon, tail tidy can be cut down, someone else posted on that, indicators and chain guards are a good'un, why do it yourself if you can get it done for free?

Yes as I thought, worst case is cut n shut tail tidy and powder coat it if needed. Mini indicators look cool if a bit pricey. Chain guard wasn't expensive really.
So many options to move cash from wallet lol.
Hopefully tuners will pick exhausts up asap although with timing of delivery (end Sept) I might not get much riding in before bad weather so plenty of time to improve it over winter.
Side view of racing fairing looks cool but can't make mind up on front view till seen one for real. Exciting!!

Please if possible post up your findings and maybe a sound clip if poss? EBay may be flooded with oe pipes lol. Did you order them from triumph dealers?
Do you need an ecu flash to run less restricted pipes?
Am toying with black cermacote eventually for headers and pipes but in time.
Main thing is getting the sound right :)
Mot noise isn't an issue with a friendly mot man hopefully
