So I have been considering changing my beloved 20 plate korossi red Speed twin for something I can ride at brands a little more regularly and thought I would test the water with trade in prices.
Now bearing in mind that Bennets insurers run a you tube channel in association with Superbike factory I thought they would be a fair bet for a reasonable price.
My arse they are, I have already had an offer from a dealer just shy of 8k, and this lot have somehow valued it at £5500!!!! I don't mind them making a profit but that takes the mick!! Be warned!!

Bizarrely I used this system in reverese.

Webuyanycar is a similar shower of shite.
I offered them a car that I was thinking of buying and they came in under by £4k..... a good point for discussion don't you think?

A similar shower of shite "motorway" actually rose their original emailed offer by £750 due to me playing the waiting game.......for a car I didn't even buy :joy:

Moral of the story - a fool and his money is easily parted!

Or, don't be in a rush to sell as a person in need is easily "helped"

So having been surprised at how poor the offer was from Superbike factory I was equally surprised at how good a trade in figure has been offered by Lagunas in Maidstone, its fair to say I haven't always been the greatest fan of that dealership but wow I couldn't be happier. Well done to Connor the salesman.

I think Superbike Factory are well known shysters. Generally looking at their stock I've seen a lot of shitty unprepped bikes and badly prepped bikes. If I ever was tempted to buy from them I would never PX and only pay cash but put in a lower offer. They would refuse it but come back to you later.

Personally wouldn't go near the place - heard too many horror stories about bikes bought from there.
Apparently they go out on the showroom floor in the same condition they were traded in at - not even washed.
A former manager has been quoted as saying that the so called 120 point check is not actually carried out if the bike is less than 5 years old or has less than 5000 miles on it! His conclusion was that someone will be killed at some point - not one of the best recommendations

I visited the one next door to Donnington a while back. It felt like a pile of bikes in a building feeling sorry for themselves with no love or attention. Without looking too hard it was very obvious the condition of the majority of bikes was not great.
I wouldn’t consider buying from them based on my first impressions.

The pre mentioned ‘Motorway’ we buy your car site. My son was selling his Corsa VXR recently to raise money for a work van, at a near by van sales place close to home he was offered £8,750.00 for a px on one of there used van’s, Motorway closed a deal for £10,220.00, based on condition etc and my research I thought this was a very fair price, no trying to knock down the price when collecting the car & money was in his account in a couple of hours.

Bought my current BMW F800ST from the back in August. It's as I expected it to be, as they are known for getting them in, and punting them out as quick as they can.
I am pretty much certain that it did not get any kind of service done on it (oil filter was old, so assuming oil was as well), but it did get a wash!
Was told there was no service history, but first time I lifted the seat, there it was (it's part of the owners manual) in it's place... Take from that what you will

They will give a low offer for trade it because they sell them cheaply as well, so defintely not the place to go for trading in. Probably not if you're wanting a pristine well loved example either to be honest.

It would appear that it’s an absolute lottery, I’m kind of happy to call out Superbike factory and I hope others do the same good or bad, at least the rest of us may stand a chance on positive recommendations.
Based on what you have said I will happily approach motorway now as I would also like to trade my car for a track day van, thanks.

Apparently on average each bike on sale is £300 cheaper however they wanted to purchase mine at £2200 cheaper, now I’m a not a mathematician but………….!!! Piss take plain and simple!

I came to the same conclusion regarding Superbike Factory, when I was looking for a Panigale 899, they were basically the ones selling almost all of the used bikes out there, and yet every one of them were damaged, some had snapped off wing mirrors and all sorts, there was one with smashed rear seat unit, and no comments as to why/will be repaired etc. It's like a fancy way of just selling trade bikes.

I think that is definitely the case - they take in unwanted trade-ins from dealers in bulk and pack them in. In some cases they are so tightly packed you cannot even see most of the bike let alone sit on it.
If you really know your bikes and are prepared to take a bit of a chance you might get a bargain, but not really cheap enough to warrant the risk for me. I'd go private.

    Interesting.
Like I said, I didn't buy the car in question but offered it to them to gauge their price. Over about 3 weeks the offer increased as they knew they had plenty of margin to play with.

I must admit I was very dubious at first for him to do it but on this occasion all was ok, the van dealer up the road was trying it on I think but they lost out, you have to shop around as always and compare what your selling to what there going for on Auto trader & alike. I said to my son if he could get £9.5 k or more snap there arm off :) all the best.

I spoke with an ex webuyanycar employee a while back and ribbed him on how much commission he made.
Apparently they only get £20 extra for an accurate appraisal
If the appraisal isn't correct then they lose the £20 bonus. :worried:
So when they knock your 10 year old car for a scuffed wheel rim etc, £50 for this and £50 for that, really there can only be one winner and it ain't the customer.

We steal any car....... find out what your cars worth in 30 seconds :joy:

    Fookin comedians!

I did hear this lot always knock this off and that, I heard from someone else that Motorway did things better, and for my son it worked out fine, but they’ve all got there faults.

I had one chat with a sales guy at super bike factory last year when I started looking round, they advertised they had a site in London so I called up and asked to visit to view what they had in stock as London was my closest store. I was told it was a satellite site and not actually a place to visit and view the bikes?? But there would be a site opening up in Bristol at some point …. I could buy over the phone and they can deliver to me :) never dealt with them again….
