    Hi guys

Thought I would drop in and say hi. I picked up a new Speed Triple R on sat and am absolutely in love with the bike! It’s replaced a 18 y/o bandit 600 so it’s like the starship enterprise by comparison!

Was a bit worried as it’s got the super corsa’s on and although I picked it up in the sun, it completely shit it down within minutes of me leaving the dealership – nice one.

I’m looking for a paddock stand and I see a few people recommend the Abba stands. I think the lift version might be a bit overkill for me, so I was thinking of the superbike stand? Is this worthwhile rather than a traditional paddock stand?

I managed to cover 150miles this weekend so I’m now able to rev the bike up to 5k without fear of fucking the engine, so it’s starting to growl a bit. Looking forward to many adventures on it. I intend to get a lowboy exhaust in time, poss a quickshifter. But for now just loving the bike as she is.

Here is a pic for you guys.

    Take it easy

I've a cheap warrior single side stand only £35 or so from demon tweeks. Ideal for cleaning the chain and storing bike without breaking the bank

    Nice bike :D welcome

Abba stand is good but takes a bit longer to set up,for quick jobs a paddock stand is a lot quicker but not a stable.

    Hi,

I picked up my 2016 R last Thursday and I'm on 340 miles already!

I already had the Abba Superbike stand and bought a new pair of adapters and it works great, but does take a little longer to set up than a standard paddock stand.

I have the Arrow lowboy exhaust and I love the sound and the pops and bangs it makes.

I got the quickshifter as well but I'm not sure it was worth bothering to be honest.

There's a thread on my bike with pics.

Nice bike!! My low-boy is arriving this week apparently (so pics to follow), and the quick shifter a few weeks later.

As for stands, I've gone for a Sharp Racing ... great quality product. May not suit due to where you are, but Murray is a great bloke to deal with.

Was also a little worried regarding the the Super Corsa's in the wet, and thinking of swapping to Rosso III's when they square off (as they will as I am mainly road riding, in all weather). We'll see how they go ...

Welcome as well from a new bloke down under ... Cheers!

    Wow, great effort!

Ok great, I am thinking going for the Abba as looks decent. i don't mind a little extra time to set it up, if it means longer with my bike! Cool thanks, mixed reviews on the q/s by the sounds of it

    Thanks!

Yeah I'm in the UK so although that stand looks quality, I think the shipping might kill it :S

I think I'll change them in time, however in the dry they are superb, and I don't really plan to ride in the wet unless I get caught out (highly likely - this is England...)

Abba Superbike Stand, awesome product. Wouldn't be without it, Another thing, I see people in this thread consistently say: 'Abba equals more time and effort'. I'm not sure I would agree with this. In addtion, I would suggest you check YouTube for Mr Brain Dumps review. He illustrates clearly that the Abba stand is not only significantly more secure, but also faster than a traditional paddock stand.
