I think you will find that what you see is two separate accessories. The flyscreen A9708603-FK £131 and the Flyscreen visor A9708525 £102. The previous models already had the flyscreen equivalent and just needed the visor. So it looks as though Triumph remain true to their word and are taking you “For the Ride”. Why not leave something off of the bike so that they can charge the mugs, sorry, customers extra?
They are 2 items but you can't have the clear bit without the painted bit. You can have the painted bit without the clear bit, as before. In the case of the painted bit they had to remove the carbon fiber bit that was in place of the painted bit on the previous model. As for leaving stuff off... yeah it can be annoying. At least in Triumphs case they actually had to add extra bits for those that want them rather than having lots of electronics already on the bike and then activating them electronically once you pay extra... KTM style. And then it goes downhill from there with auto manufacturers wanting customers to pay ongoing costs to keep things enabled.
It will be worth the wait. I'm loving the new bike. The quick shifter is silky smooth... a very noticeable improvement... no wonder all the reviewers were talking about it. And the front end is a lot faster diving into a corner. Triumph made a lot of small...ish changes and I think they have made a much sharper and more engaging bike. I'm pretty sure you'll be happy when you ride it.
Had a good look at A1moto today being fortunate to have my "old" 765 near a new R plus a RS plus a Moto2. The front end, headlight area, is definitely missing a bit. Value engineering and continous improvement at its finest Well done Triumph! Who are the idiots? To sum this up: Wife said, out of all these here which one would you pick? I said, mine
Good for you. I very nearly swopped my 2021 R in for the latest version. But they no longer do the LRH and, more importantly, the piddling little TFT display is an insult. Apologies to other Triumph owners whose machines have the same display.
I think he has reverse fitted it, the number plate light is only held by a couple of bolts so can be re positioned, the tail tidy is easily positioned as intended and not as shown in the photo. If a number plate was fitted to the tail tidy as it is, well it would not last long at all, the rear hugger is very short and small stones etc are catapulted up around the undertray, that males it look like it's been peppered by shotgun pellets on a pattern plate, so a number plate would be toast pretty quick, anyone with a Street Triple 765 just look at the machines undertray and you will see what I mean, the same is true for the new generation Speed Triples.
I don’t think you can reverse fit the tail tidy because the four fixing screws are not symmetrically arranged. See the close up photo of the rear and then see the extract below from Evotech’s tail tidy, noting the screw locations. I removed and refitted the tail light/indicators/licence plate stalk a goodly number of times when fitting my adapted Ventura luggage rack to the new bike using the pillion grab handle fixing lugs on the subframe thereby becoming far too familiar with this particular fitting. I’m guessing that the rear light unit also incorporates the direction indicators. All very slick but not entirely purposeful. I have a very similar unit on my Ducati but have also retained the OE indicators.
Hi Baza, the tail tidy on Zab's machine is not the Evotech or Triumph OEM one, it is from a different manufacturer, it also has a base plate and then the number plate hanger itself, unfortunately it does not fit the recess neat and tidy like the Evotech or the OEM.
No, I did realise but was pointing out the geometry of the four fixings in the photo looked to be the same geometry as the OE fixings and included the Evotech image to confirm the geometry of the OE fixings. With those unsymmetrical fixing locations it is impossible to rotate the item being fixed by 180°. That’s the reason why I requested photos showing the licence plate having been installed. With regard to the indicators being in the same enclosure and adjacent to the rear and stop lights would seem to be contrary to our striving to be seen by other road users. Look at the number of bikes you now see with a pair of those small “fog” lights or the use of brightly coloured lids and use of dayglo clothing. Yet here we have a rear light cluster with four functions, all bunched together. Are the drivers of following vehicles going to be sufficiently alert to recognise the subtle changes in illumination? I very much doubt it?
Torn between red or yellow, only problem is available yellow bikes is like finding a unicorn egg, unless I go second hand...
No, the Motodynamic base plate doesn't offer the neat and tidy finish that the OEM tail has. Yet to see if stones or anything else do any damage to the plate as it's only been a few miles since installed. From a few feet away you would never know the fit isn't exactly ideal, but the integrated tail does look better imo than the stock tail sticking way out the back - especially with the US model that doesn't get LED turn signals.
Loving my 2023 Street Triple RS, came full circle back to one of these after selling my 2016 R version and having about 7 bikes in between. That triple engine never gets old...
How did you get the tinted visor above the flyscreen? I just installed the oem flyscreen for my yellow Moto2 -- I don't see a visor option. Ohh, seems like A9708525 isn't offered for USA, wtf.
