Hello everybody, I’m John and just bought a 2023 T120 and absolutely love it. I live near Manchester Uk and am considering swapping my stock pipes for the Predator pro shortys, has anyone done this and if so, how are they, was it worth it? One of my concerns is the proximity of the pipes to panniers, do you think they will get damaged by the heat?
In my opinion the original pipes are looking great and their sound is great to. You always can hear that a T120 is in the area. I wouldn't change them. I love mine on my T120.
Many moons ago I had a Harley. I was riding by this steak house up the highway from my house and could smell the aroma of the cooking steaks. Smelled good! A few miles up the road, oddly enough, I could still smell the steak cooking. Weird, I thought. I stopped at a red signal and, to my horror, saw smoke and flames coming up from the front of the bike. It wasn't steak I smelled. What I thought was cooking steak was the leather fork bag I had just mounted on the bike burning. It was in contact with the exhaust pipes and had caught fire!!! Fortunately, I had a pocketknife and was able to cut the bag loose before there was any real damage.
I also like the British customs sleeper pro pipes, just a little smaller and a little louder but not obnoxious. And they keep the original look just a little better. It's more of a fine tuned sound in my opinion. But your right, the T120 does sound really good stock, I love the sound of it.
I was watching a YouTube video yesterday, where someone had removed his T120 end cans and replaced them with exhaust tips from British Customs. Presumably they give you a straight through pipe (like a slash cut) but I can’t make up my mind about them.
Welcome. Also a new T120 owner. What an amazing bike. Only slightly disappointed that I can't get the indicator lenses off! I wanted to change the orange for clear bit they seem to be glued on! Looks like I'm going to be going back to the dealer just to change a bulb.
