They were blissfully quiet today as well; I went through to Powick and then on the A44 to Leominster - had a lovely clear run apart from through Malvern and Powick.

    Not actually today but yesterday…….

So I did a video / sound clip but I couldn’t upload it to here, sorry @Mrs Visor .
Anyway it’s pretty loud and will need quietening for MOT time if nothing else so I’d bought so db killers, drilled the cans so they fit and now have the option of loud or slightly quieter. I’ll see how it sounds when out on the road in April.

Also out on the Explorer for a couple of hours around Derbyshire. Was late afternoon by then so roads were pretty quiet, temperatures also dropped a bit- was down to 3.5degrees coming over from Buxton. Those eBay bargain Keis heated gloves were a good investment!

I took my Speed Triple RS out for a little solo ride this afternoon, a 50-mile ride in glorious weather on this last day of March.

Still a bit of snow on the ver tippyy top of the Catalinas!

A little stop for an energy drink at the local Minute Market and gas station after doing the loop in Saddlebrooke, a "master planned" housing development and golf course about 20 miles north of Tucson.

I've stopped here many times but never realized that the Minute Market also houses a US Post Office!

Back home around 4:30pm. We'll pay for these lovely spring temperatures come July when it hits 110ºF!

There’s a bit of a gap between the frame rails where I’d taken the X-pipe off the Thruxton.

So last week I made a sump guard / gap hider from some steel plate.

    And fitted it today.
I’m not 100% happy with it, was cheap and easy to make …….and that’s sort of how it looks. I’ll leave it on but may make or buy something else in due course

……in other news, I’ve taxed it today and looking forward to going out on it tomorrow

That looks fine in the photo, but understand sometimes photos don’t show the whole story.

This weekend the activities around the Easter celebration started in Austria. Easter markets are held almost in every town. Therefore we took our Bonnie's and started a little tour to reach one of those markets in Forchtenstein.
The market was situated in most parts of the Forchtenstein Castle.
Besides all the handicrafts made of various materials, there was also an interesting culinary offer.

I tasted a bun filled with meat loaf from game meat. :yum

The crocodile hanging in the entrance hall has protected the castle from enemy attacks since 1706. It has obviously been useful, because the castle could never be taken. :p

@Mrs Visor: Many thanks to you!
The weekend was marvelous! This week is crazy. Temperatures from -3 to 15 degrees changing every few hours in both directions. Rain, snow, sunshine is permanently changing. By the end of the week it should get better. ;)

Spring is finally starting to show here in the desert South-West. Warming up, and the wind is dying down. Looking forward to getting "Lola" out there. I want to convert her taillight to LED before the season starts. I have a bunch of LED 1157's in my lighting drawer in the garage. Just need to find a minute to get to it. Enjoy the season everyone. ...J.D.

Helmut is on call for work today, so I went out by myself for a lovely ride - set out early when it was still pretty chilly to try and beat the worst of the holiday traffic and barely saw any for the first hour or two - and then the whole world seemed to come out onto the roads .I had a lovely time - first stop was the Honey Cafe in Bronllys, then the Owl's nest in Llandovery and finally Abergavenny bus station.

I am also exceptionally thankful that I fitted a radiator guard to the Street Triple as I hit a pheasant that suddenly flew out of a hedge when I was going quite fast headed home…I stopped and had to pick a lot of pheasant feathers and general gore out of the guard and mudguard and thankfully the only damage seems to be a very slight crack in some mudguard plastic. The bike then STANK when I was sat in traffic in town and I got a few looks at the petrol station removing more gore from the bike. I wondered why people were looking at me when I went to pay and when I got home noticed my left leg also had a good amount of former - pheasant on it o_O.All in all I feel like I got off very lightly, it was a very big bird!!
