I've not ridden in a couple of years, my last bike being a Honda VTX 1300, which I regret selling.I live in North Georgia, 15 miles from Dahlonega, and our mountains are a blast to ride. We call them the Twisties....I got the fever again and picked up a 2016 Street Twin. Road bars and panniers are on back order. This bike is quite a bit smaller than I'm used to, but she should be fine for the intended purpose. I've discovered the Triumph dealer wants an arm and a leg for service work, so I'll be using a local bike shop instead. Our club is called the North Georgia Mountain Riding Association, 160 current members. Most of them are on Harley's or Goldwings, although one chap has a Rocket. They do a lot of long distance rides, Sturgis, Daytona Bike Week, etc. I'll not be going on them, but there's lots of local rides. I don't care for the height of the bars, which make me lean too forward, but changing them out is too expensive. I'll just ride her as is. Cheers to all. Keep the rubber side down...The Mad Mongoose...OUT!!

    Welcome Mongoose

Good choice on the ST 900, I miss my SC 900 (which was more or less converted to a ST). The handlebars are quite easy to change yourself when you get bored of the lower bars.

    Cheers

    Geoff

What, in your opinion, is the most comfortable Triumph for distance riding? I love the retro look, but the Tigers, etc, seem to have the more modern look. Anything in the Bonne family? Cheers from Gawga! The Mad Mongoose....OUT!!

Hi from Brisbane Australia. I've got a 2018 Street Cup and go out with mates every Monday looking for twisties. Did 400 km last week and 300 km today and a few breaks during the ride are recommended (but mainly because I find the seat a bit too hard for my 69 year old arse). I don't find the forward riding position too severe though if you sit there long enough you do start to feel in the wrist. It's a great little bike so I hope you enjoy yours as much as I enjoy mine.
