    Here are Ellie and Steve looking out at the RUNNING WATER by the bridge over the Rillito River near our house. We've had a pretty decent monsoon season. Not enough to make much of a dent in our 22-year drought but we'll take it!

    @Dougie D
    Did you and Archie get lost in the woods, Dougie? ;) :) I've missed seeing you on the forum lately along with your bikes and those beautiful views in your ride photos. And Archie!

    I live in countryside, on farm, all based on fully organic farming (methods).

    This can not be called pet but has stayed on our lands (forests) for a while now. Enough rodents to eat.[IMG]

    I could see that it was on Facebook (I think anyway) and I don't have Facebook. Maybe that's it??

    I'm using Safari as my standard browser. Maybe I'll try opening the forum with Chrome and see if it works there.

    Worth a try. It'll bring a smile to your face when you hopefully see it.

    Sorry for replying a bit late I missed this post somehow, He lives on the North East coast of England and we are still waiting for our first heatwave:), everytime the temperature rises we end up with a sea fret.

    I never outgrew my fascination with reptiles. When I was a kid we always had turtles, lizards and snakes. This was passed on to my daughters. We had a deal when they were young. In my travels on the back roads every summer I would bring home whatever I found. We'd keep them for a week or so and then return them to where they were found and release them.

    Meet the latest addition to our family, "Fluffy." She's a garter snake. My youngest daughter, who lives about 1/2 mile from me found her whilst doing spring yard cleanup. Fluffy looks like a yearling. Probably born last summer. Garter snakes bear live young. She's about a 10" long. As such, she's vulnerable to predation from hawks, owls, raccoons and cats, so I'll keep her through the summer (she's too young to breed) fatten her up, make sure she's safe, and release her in the fall. She's eating well (earthworms and guppies). She is well mannered and is quite tame. She has no issues being handled.

    She's great fun. She's already learned a couple tricks! One is hide and seek, and she's also good at staring contests.

    I was appalled by the lack of snake toys at the local Pet Smart store. Blatant discrimination!

    The wife has knitted her a sweater, which she loves.

    I have to say that I've never been a snake fan, @Fork Lock (understatement!) but your post and the photos of Fluffy may make me rethink my attitude. I love the photo of Fluffy in her little sweater. :) Kind of nice to knit a sweater and not have to worry about sleeves. ;)

    Actually, a sleeve was all she had to knit.
