We're watching "1923", sequel to "1883" and prequel to "Yellowstone". Helen Mirrin is a badass!

She's great ! Hey Sandi, have you noticed who pops up briefly at the ambulance scene " In Bruge " ? Puts a small change, possibly ? to the ending. R. I. P .. Jeff Beck :broken_heart:

"Fury" .. simple enough, with a few good comments.

Yep, watching that too, whilst being pi$$ed off with the Yellowstone midseason break...
Helen Mirren has been a badass all her life, I think! (fantastic in "The Cook, The Thief, His Wife and Her Lover).

Ah, I've not noticed, @surlyone2. A good reason to watch "In Bruge" again! Yes, RIP Jeff Beck. :pensive:

I watched the Old Way with Nicholas Cage, terrible film but brilliant acting from the young actress Ryan Kiera Armstrong. Then being desperate for a good western I rewatched Old Henry which is the best western I've watched in the last decade.

And now "1923" is on a midseason break too - what's wrong with these people?

I completely agree, @Vulpes. These "midseason breaks" are frustrating. Just when you get completely hooked (like obsessively hooked I have to admit), the rug gets pulled out and we're advised that a show will return on xxxxx after a midseason break. Sheesh!:(

Apparently 1923 will be back in 3 weeks time, yellowstone possibly this summer - excruciating!
So I was so pee'd off I booked a weekend away to Barcelona this March! Battling off the winter dip!

Two more series that Mr. Sandi and I have enjoyed recently are "The English" (which is somewhat in the same vein as Yellowstone, 1883, and 1923) and "Slow Horses" with Gary Oldman as the boss of a group of misfit, demoted MI5 agents.

Cheers Sandi. As the yellowstone universe is on hold at present I'll check those out!

So I watched "The English", at @Sandi T 's recommendation. A great story, extremely well told.

And as the weather's crap, again at @Sandi T 's commendation, I started watching "Slow Horses" today. Gary Oldman is indeed brilliant in it. I'm enjoying this.
