    Took the Street Cup out so I could run out the old fuel and get some fresh, stabilized stuff in it for winter storage. I like that the PO put in a good Li-ion battery so I don't need to worry about it losing its charge after many months of sitting. I also got to try out the Avon radials (front and rear) for the first time and they're way better than the OEM crap.

    TRMCC Xmas party today, so we had our last JAFA ride, lead by the Wicked Elf.:imp:
    We managed 4 of Auckland’s west coast beaches, before thunder threatened. :sun: Great day, even went through a police checkpoint which had them laughing :p

    I took advantage of a "weather window" today and after weeks of snow, rain and ice, finally got my bikes out of the garage again. The temperatures were at a cold -6 to - 3 degrees Celsius, but the roads were dry. Therefore, I'm first with my Honda and then with my Bonnie to 50 km each on different roads, up to a short stretch on the highway been on the road. With the heated grips and clothing, the temperatures were no problem. My feet were happy when I stayed home after the 2nd turn.:p Warmer weather has been forecast for the next few days, but there will be plenty of precipitation again. Therefore, the bikes remain in the garage until 2023 from now on.;)

    Just spent a couple of hours on a motorway, what a boring waste of time, couldn't get home fast enough. Had to constantly keep backing off the throttle to stay slightly legal. Bonnies are a fish out of water here, couldn't wait to get on a twisty mountain road somwhere to make the ride more interesting, this was mind numbing cruiser territory.

    Another last ride of the year. Put Mrs seat on and took her over the hills for coffee and lamingtons. Off to boat club for lunch and refreshments after.
    Great day :sun::cool:

    Onya Darty ! Does having the boss sitting up there (assumably, so she can belt you in the ear easier ?) make the handling a little flightly at all. Thinking if you hit any of that tar that seems to be lifting everywhere ?

    :eek: Riding is fine as long as she remembers to follow my lean. I am a bit more tentative with her on the back, but her enjoying the bike is well worth the focus.
    Helps her understand why I like taking off regularly for rides :cool:
    It was 20’ during our ride, so tar was fine.
    It did get up to 28’ later on

    A short ride to Bowness on Windermere. Very busy getting into the Lakes once I crossed the M6. Also very cold 4.5c was the best I saw 2c most of the time. Luckily on the way home most vehicles were southerners or at least going south so turned down the M6. The A65 home was very pleasant. Only about 3 hours in total but great to be out riding.

    A65 very pleasant :joy:
    Maybe back in the olden days with no speed cameras or unmarked police cars :confused: but certainly not how I'd describe it these days. Usually it's just a slow moving traffic queue with enough solid white lines to keep a Dulux factory employed.

    Two speed cameras both at the same place, Devils Bridge unless you count Kirkstall road in Leeds. No unmarked police cars, none, not one. Plenty of broken white line areas to allow overtaking. If you know what you are doing that is.
    Bowness on Windermere and back in just over 3 hours. That doesn’t sound like your A65 thoughts.

    Well at least we agree on something :blush:
    Our views of the A65 are very different.

    With you mentioning Kirkstall road we can't live very far apart. I'm about 2 miles from Squires cafe.
