Trident Trident 660 - Rare Bike?

Agree, pretty sure that it has quite often been the best selling bike in its category. Nice looking in my opinion and about right for specs, all reviews seem to rate the handling. As much as I like the looks I would have to lean towards the Tiger 660 with my knees as it gives them a little less bend.

 

Great looking bike and as you say good value. The seating position is for a younger person though (or an older person with great joints), foot pegs are quite high. These are significantly lowered on the 660 Sport. For that very reason I just fitted the Trophy pegs/linkages to my Daytona (both 90's bikes) which lowered them 55mm and 45mm further forward, bliss.

 

They have sold a shed load, think it was MCN i read only the bmw GS's where selling better. Maybe more riders using the other trident forum, or maybe just not alot of issues with it, so fewer posts.
Also a returning biker, picked it up end of september, and so glad i went with the trident, once past the 4/5k run in and first service the bikes an absolute riot to be on. This was the first weekend i didnt take it out, felt lost, just sitting looking at it !

 

Ye its not best weather, no snow here, but sub zero tempratures enough to stop me taking it out. Driving the car today at - 5 on untreated roads is proving intertaining at least

 

I'd have one if the back end did not look quite so upward pointing and you could get a centre stand for easier cleaning/maintenance. Cannot see any hints on the interweb but I'm really hoping we'll get a more "Tiger" version soon as I'd like something a smidge lighter that looks like a 900 GT.

 

I test rode one just to see what they were like, value wise they can't be faulted, it rode and handled well, personally I did not find it exciting enough. What has impressed me lately is the new Honda CB750, it has 90bhp and weighs 190kg fuelled up, 0n the accessories front there are 3 kit options, very competitively priced, the colours look good to, and the machine retails at £6999, what's not to like.

As long as you have something at the rear of the bike to get hold of to control lean angle as you begin the lift you should be ok.

My paddock stand, originally bought for my Ducati cradled the swing arm both sides. Too far forward and it rubbed the underside of the cans and too far back and the cradles clashed with the sprocket nuts. A bit of a pain.

So when I bought the Street Triple I fitted the bobbins and this is how I modded the stand to suit. Just have to fit some bobbins to the Ducati now.
