Gorgeous day, 21C, so I took it to work today. First ride with the new sprockets, which I changed down from 3+ at the rear to standard. Interesting. After 4 years of owning the bike I got used to riding on "rev sound". Doing that today I noticed I was going a hell of a lot faster with the standard sprockets... :joy: That makes sense, obviously - it's actually like I have got an extra gear. Motorway cruising will be a lot more quiet (and probably cheaper) in future :).

A fine afternoon run out into the Peaks and over Strines.
Plenty of damp patches left with wash down from the recent heavy rain plus a thick carpet of wet leaves and pine needles now starting to appear in the heavily wooded areas. I actually had the TC cut in momentarily, accelerating uphill out of a tight bend smothered in wet debris and that's on a Street Scrambler with a heady 64bhp on tap!:joy: A great day for honing one's riding skills.

Yep reasonable day here in Cheshire. Went out for an hour on the Thruxton, roads dry and not to many leaves about.

I had to go see a client, and as it's possibly the last decent day for a while I took speedy. 100 miles paid for by work.

I’m getting a bit bored with the usual local routes so today I planned a loop to go further south than I normally get and ended up near Bedford. The forecast sunny intervals were few and far between but it was still nice to be on unfamiliar roads, even if they were damp and a bit muddy from farm traffic. Once heading north again there was a nice spell of sun, and the countryside opened up in Cambridgeshire and the B660 was dry so I could sweep along at the national speed limit without worrying about road conditions :)

The sun didn’t last but when back in my normal riding area I saw the forecast was promising better weather (it lied), so I plotted a route on satnav to extend my ride. This turned out to be more of an adventure than I planned as I ignored a ‘road closed’ sign and a couple of miles later came across some resurfacing work. This resulted in going ‘off piste’ down a road ‘Unsuitable for Motor Vehicles’ which was muddy and wet-leafy but mercifully short, before turning into a gated road and some other ‘new’ single-track roads I could explore in my home county. :)

Now the eagle eyed will note differences in the number of parts being refurbed as some were added after the 1st pic. although there is still more to do ;)

Took advantage of the sun to have a second riding day this week :) Headed up to the Peak District this time and took some new-to-me roads to get there. Stopped for lunch at The Old Smithy in Monyash where there was a couple dozen other bikes then headed up to Hope valley area before wending my way home.

That’s a view down on Castleton.

Loads of unclassified back roads in the PD which is just as well as the main routes can get very busy in good weather.
Still quite a few green lanes left too but they're constantly under threat from the NIMBY's.
That looks like Mam Tor, Win Hill and Lose Hill in the background there.

So I'm getting rid of the standard mirrors on the Street twin and going to bar ends.

Top clamp with boss is the original.

Luckily today I managed to purchase x4 half clamps without the boss. Three are identical and the other one is very near.
These will be blasted and powdercoated satin black to blend in with everything else making a far neater job.

Obviously I will only be using two of the below but I usually buy more than I need to then have spares for future ideas. Currently I have at least four tail lights for this bike; don't ask!
