Any recommendations for slimmer cut textile trousers? I bought a pair of Alpinestars Tour Tech trousers which I would say are 34 to 35" waist and length are fine but although I'm no racing snake they are way too voluminous around the hips, thighs and lower leg. I have had a pair of Alpinestars in the past which were a good fit but can't remember which version!

Which brands (and which of their styles) suit the more finely built gentleman in your experience??

Eat some pies and they'll be fine

Try some IXS as my last ones were a good cut, well for me anyway.

These Richa trousers work great over normal jeans. The soft shell fabric is stretchy and provides a close comfortable fit without any flapping around the ankles. Designed as a commuter trouser but I've added the hip armour and wear them all the time. A 260 mile ride in heavy rain and they let water in eventually along the zip lines but a pair of lightweight overtrousers would cure this.

Another style worth considering are the new Merlin trousers as they have straps on the lower leg to create a close fit over your boots.

UPDATE - I finally bought a pair of Lindstrands Volda trousers (just over half price on eBay). Great quality and sizing is accurate - although a little long off the bike they're perfect when riding.
They are AA rated with the appropriate armour although they come with level 1 pads.
I've had Halvarssons gear before, tend to forget how well made and great value it is! Bring on Winter :)

Sorry I can't relate. Too big isn't usually a problem.
