Aaack! Sorry, @learningtofly. No offense with the bike ID. I'm SO looking forward to seeing YOUR Sport Glide with the mods.
'Merican Muscle - ROAR! Beautiful bike - AND in the fastest color! Had a few HD's in my youth. No brand snobbery here. What you ride doesn't matter - just ride! Lots of luck with it.
Looks great! Loads of grunt you will find it is much more rewarding to ride than non cruiser bikes as they need more rider input
Another 60 miles on this beauty of a bike today (so the best part of 170 miles since picking it up). I feel like I'm beginning to understand what it's about, the things it excels at and the times you have to treat it with a bit of respect.
Wow, that bike is outstanding. It looks perfect, not at all like you purchased it used. I really like those S&S pipes. Sounds ike you're getting to know it. I'll be curious to read about what you think of it as you ride it more and more. One of the things I love most about my Harleys is the torque. I'm also in agreement with @Dougie D about how rewarding it is to ride a bike like this. I'm not sure how I'd clarify that...maybe that it's very "interactive". Enjoy!!! And please continue to keep us posted on your thoughts about your Sport Glide, @learningtofly!
It really is a minter, Sandi. Coincidentally, it was also sent to the detailer that I always use for a valet, ceramic coating and ACF-50 treatment, so it's in the best possible cosmetic condition with lots of protection on it. Agree with you regarding the torque (with its stage 2 I think this one should be about 172Nm, which is pretty impressive). I also know just what you mean when you say these bikes are "interactive"... I've certainly found that the Sport Glide requires a lot more user input than other bikes I've owned, and I love that about it. I'll write some kind of review when i have some more miles under my belt.
Lovely ride into Essex for a spot of breakfast this morning, and found myself parked up next to a Road King and an R9T! Couldn't resist stopping on the way home...
Your bike is looking good, @learningtofly! Are you continuing to enjoy it? I hope so! BTW, I love that Road King. It's a Road King Special which I prefer head and shoulders above the Road King Standard. Both are great bikes but I prefer the stance and aesthetics of the Special version. It's very similar to the 2014 Road King CVO I used to have.
I’m absolutely loving it, Sandi. I’ve only managed about 400 miles so far but every one has been a delight. I’m definitely a cruiser at heart
