Ooooh! I definitely approve, @learningtofly! Congratulations!!! And welcome to the Harley family. The Sport Glide is a terrific bike (as you now know). One of our buddies had one and loved it. However, he recently traded it for a newer Street Glide Special which better suits his current riding needs. Ok, onwards to read the rest of your thread....
This one is a Fat Bob, @learningtofly. It's also in the Softail family but some differences from the Sport Glide. In my opinion you made the better choice.
Was there anything you specifically didn’t like about the Tiger, I don’t think you had it long? The HD is certainly a change.
I had it for a year, Neal, and no - there was nothing I didn't like about it. In fact, in terms of functionality it's a near-perfect bike. My issue, or problem, was that I couldn't identify emotionally with it (if that makes sense) - in fact, I never once looked at it and thought "phwoar!!!". The longer I had it the more that bothered me, and the more HD as an alternative made sense. After all, I bought the Tiger for longer days/more miles in the saddle; the Sport Glide will offer that, but will also come in much more of a classically styled form. Every time I ride it it'll feel like an event, too!
I completely agree that a bike has to be about more than just transport, particularly if it’s your only bike. It’s important that you get a bit excited whenever you open the garage door Congrats on the Harley!
Same model, but that's stock. Mine has the mods/upgrades listed earlier in the thread (including black 2 into 1 exhausts).
I don't think the picture is of a stock bike as that has the 2 into one exhaust and the wheels look too cool to be standard
You've got me yearning for another Harley, problem is I love my Rocket and that would have to go and I'm not ready to let it go just yet, maybe in another couple of years
