Day 2 of Scotand trip was to take the ferry to Dunoon and head across mountains and by lochs. Didn’t realise how long loch Awe is, think I spent and hour and half on those single track roads mostly through forest.

The local post office provided me with lunch...

There's more than 2mm of tread depth still, good for another thousand or two miles. (Avon Cobra's don't have tread in the very centre so that may be misleading you)

Another day in the Highlands for me. The highlight was the 22 miles of single-track road by Loch Garry up the river to Loch Quoich then to Kinloch Hourn where there was meant to be a tea room, but it was shut. Took me over two hours to get there as I was pootling along at about 25mph soaking it all in, and stopping to take lots of photos. Probably saw a dozen vehicles the whole morning. Then it was back again as it’s a dead end and on to more lochs.

Another day in the Highlands going down various long dead-end routes, including as it turns out now I look on Google maps, almost getting to the westerly most point of the British mainland (I went to Ardnamurchan point). Weather was disappointingly grey most of the day, but still great to get out into wild beyond :)

Pic from a different dead-end route from today, past Loch Arienas…

Those dead end routes are little jems that most Bikers miss

Just another Dales run. First time off road on this bike. Forgot to change riding modes so nearly dropped the bike when the TC kicked in. Changed to off road mode and what a different bike. Certainly going with a bit more off road tyre choice when they’re due.

Down another long dead-end road today…

    7.jpg

Then to a different glen to eat my picnic

    8.jpg

That was about the only spot in the glen of Orchy that wasn’t already occupied by a tent or camper van. Very busy today, guess it’s a sunny August weekend and everyone’s out to enjoy it.

Up early this morning for a quick solo blast around a local route - gorgeous scenery and good roads and back before it gets really hot. @Helmut Visor opted to stay in bed, he is a night owl whereas I am a super early bird .

Did the same today on my Speed Twin this morning. Woke at five out by six, couple of hours of undiluted fun. Very little on the road till around nine so headed back and home by ten. Too early for the scam vans and I picked a route with no static distractions to worry about.
I’m used to setting out early when touring in Spain to avoid the heat yet have never considered doing it over here.
